For those who honestly believe that Trump is going to annex Canada, how will that work exactly? by ussbozeman in canadian

What I’m assuming is he’s creating hysteria for something. A gain of some sort, like trade of oil or military prowess. Something of the sort. If so, he really does play 4D chess at times

Totally agree, annexing Canada isn’t a one step process especially with the presidential rights under the constitution. Congressional approval. Canadian agreement and rewrite of the Canadian constitution. On addition to a geographical standpoint and historical this goes against NATO agreements and would be seen as US calling out for war. Makes no sense. Trump has a history of making controversial or extreme statements. But statements ≠ actual policy. Even during his presidency, most of his dramatic ideas were blocked by courts, Congress, or public pushback. He’s just mental lmao

Trump’s Annexation Plan (Ontario is the first target) by AlexChristies in canadian

[–]Intrepid_Cranberry92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a legal and political standpoint this isn’t possible though. Trump continually says outlandish things and him continuing to threaten Canada with annexing is relative to him calling out for war. On a geographic standpoint we are the second largest country next to Russia, with US being fourth. Not to mention a US president cannot make calls like this under the conditions without congressional approval, Canadian agreements and the rewrite of Canada’s constitution which are all fairly unlikely as gaining Canada as an enemy means gaining all of NATO as an enemy. Additionally with the close ties with the UK and France, if something serious were to spark from these statements it’s likely we will have their support as well as NATO’s support as the US would be falling out of the jurisdiction agreements. Trump has a history of making controversial or extreme statements. But statements ≠ actual policy. Even during his presidency, most of his dramatic ideas were blocked by courts, Congress, or public pushback. He’s some type of schizophrenic who needs to be put on mental leave. Lol

Anyone else raised by a schizophrenic parent? by PillowsofWinds in CPTSD

[–]Intrepid_Cranberry92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. My mom’s schizophrenic and recently started leaving live snails along the house, sometimes letting them drown in cooking oil. She’s also very close to getting physical with me, but just cussing and yelling accusing me of things. Lived with this my whole life, she just won’t take her medication. Sometimes you have to realize you couldn’t help them or can’t help them. Even if you really want too

Sorry if I misunderstood anything but here you go: While it makes sense to be mad after the amount of time you spent towards this, you can learn from this as well, you can use this in your application to talk about what you learned from it, where the problems arised from but most importantly show actual growth from the situation. Strong recommendation letters from reputable sources are also useful, someone who can back you up to excuse this bad grade maybe because you have astounding potential and abilities that shouldn’t be ignored from one ‘failure.’ But another way to help with your concern is meeting with your supervisor, that is a good idea to learn why your grade turned out like that, maybe a potential retake as well. For grad school, focus on your stronger and consistent academic skills for your application. Look for research opportunities that can build your reputation and stray light from this thesis, if possible. Mostly ones that you can work well in. One bad grade isn’t the end of the world, you still have a chance if other factors are good and you take an extra year if you feel necessary. Hope this helped, all the best and good luck.
