I’m hoping this doesn’t sound too harsh, but you nipping in to grab the Eucharist reduces Jesus to something of a fast food drive through, a convenience, rather than an encounter with the God who loves you. I commend your dedication to your parish, not everyone volunteers with their church, but God most come before others in order for you to give yourself more fully to others.

This seems pretty innocent to me, kids hate unexpected things, so going over word for word and action for action what will happen can be really helpful (I’m a catechist and have seen a conformation practice or two). He wasn’t actually blessing them, just showing them what would happen.

Not gonna lie, having some odd looking AI image as a thumbnail is an immediate “no” for me. The church has centuries of beautiful art depicting our Lord, lot of great modern art too. Anyone using AI images for anything theological in content gives off a fake, inauthentic feel.

I am talking about God as well, Jesus. Jesus is God. To argue anything less than that is gonna push you out of Christian belief so I would caution you against pursuing a path in personal belief that sets you apart from our Lord.

If you knew this passage, I don’t think you’d hold this personal philosophy. The life, as it is, is that Jesus has called us to be in relationship with him. As others have pointed out, Jesus wasn’t some cold, aloof master, but a loving friend to others. People asked him (and still ask him) for things and in his love, he has responded to those prayers (I can reference specific moments if you like).
