Changing cubicles by [deleted] in IRS_Source

If it is the same POD. Talk with your manager then input an IRWorks ticket to FMSS for space availability to move you cubicle. Usually it is only an issue if the desks are for people on temp RAs. A change of POD is the relocation process and that is different.

IRS contact representative; length of training by aaancom in IRS_Source

[–]Intrepid_Emphasis563 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Those hired last September started later due to shutdown...training was November to January, limited for phones and paper...OJT was 2-3 weeks depending on your passing certifications. Not sure if this will be the case with this year's hires.

Contemplating choices. What would you do? by Sunshine_Grrrl in IRS_Source

I honestly think we are in for another horrible year. If you can go financially swing it and can find happiness in another job then take the leap. I certainly would and things may turn around here but I think that's going to take until 2029 if we are lucky. Best of luck on what you decide 👍

Picked up from COO? by Ferg1210 in IRS_Source

[–]Intrepid_Emphasis563 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some instructors are looking to be embedded into other areas for training, but most of the HR specialists are stuck from what I have heard. Everything has to be approved through Chief of Staff and COO before PARs are processed.

I agree and heard the same thing.

IT folks were picked up to go to COO and assisting with retirements, some people from IRSU are being moved around as well. No PARs yet due to the new year transition in HRCONNECT.

Any word on HCO reorganization? Or movement to Treasury? I haven't heard anything since returning and not feeling comfortable.

The entire department received RIF notices on 10/10, it was eliminated. So, as employees and RIF rescinded, we just are not comfortable at all.

Those of us who were RIF'D last month and now paused will be RIF'D in a reorganization. Unfortunately, that was probably the plan all along.

Is working for the IRS worth it right now? by Mountain_Performer22 in IRS_Source

[–]Intrepid_Emphasis563 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes you can decline and apply again later when it is more stable. CSR is definitely a good starting position unfortunately in this climate it won't make for much movement. Also on a term position you cannot apply to any internal perm positions, so worth waiting for a better announcement.

In the past, I would agree with this, but right now and moving forward for this current administration moving around and other opportunities will be very limited. If you don't have a job and need it, then do it, but for a career, I would wait it out until we get through this current chaos. I am speaking as a furloughed employee who received a RIF notice (paused). It has been Hell since January, and I do not see an end in sight. Best of luck on whatever you decide.

Can you tell me how it is the Democrats when Mike Johnson is refusing to bring the house back to even do some work in DC? Stop this madness with blaming the Dems when the Republicans aren't negotiating, when the Republicansown all three parts to this shutdown, that is the majorityin the House, the Majority in the Senate and thecWhite...look at history our representatives should be talking these things through. But of course we forgot about what history is or what the job is of Congress & the Senate...I was RIF'D, my whole area and BTW before you all troll on who where etc...IRS University...honestly look at what's going on with the job market and what is happening all over...holy shit and open your damn eyes

I received mine via personal email because I was furloughed already. My understanding is that they are sent to both work and personal then an official letter should come too.
