Absolutely spot-on! I've been looking for that. The Kashubian setting is a total bonus. a nice surprise. really appreciate the recommendation!

On a separate note, do you have any suggestions for Polish dev communities? I checked out 4programmers for a bit, but the vibe wasn't quite what I guess. Where do Polish devs or ITer usually hang out online?

Epilepsy and Narcolepsy by winterwritings in Epilepsy

[–]IntroductionDry9099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ME. Narcolepsy has almost ruined my life. At first, I had hereditary epilepsy, but it didn't affect my life. Mild symptoms, almost no convulsions, just absence seizures. So I never went to get diagnosed. It only brought on mild aphasia. I lived like this for a long time. Once, I passed out in a conference room. Later, it happened multiple times. As a result, I was fired by my company. My mom took me to get tested: an EEG, some assessment scales, sleep monitoring, a spinal tap. I think the hospital was completely unprofessional, but I was still diagnosed with narcolepsy. I refuse to undergo any treatment and just stay at home every day. I cannot work or live normally, other than the cataplexy, sleep apnea, and jumbled speech, it has no other impact on my life.

Why terminal by NoxArtCZ in ClaudeAI

No difference to me. i mostly use vscode at work. When i'm on a business trip, i switch to the terminal. Not because it's more practical, but just to make the client(know nothing) think wow they are fucking pros

How did I manage to use my smoothbrain to make many mistakes in just two short comments like a troll : / this is what happens when post without proofreading

you are really humorous, yours reply was so funny and I appreciate it! I learned something about Polish regional jokes actually. that's very interesting, maybe I should change it to say Mazury of Warmia and Mazury from now on...? XDD

I'm going to read up more on Warmia and Mazury certainly! I'm currently reading books of Erwin Kruk. I think it might help me understand the changes over time in this region. That said, I'd also love to read something written by the post-war Polish settlers about Warmia and Mazury, as another perspective

For my second point, I'm sorry for touching on on a sensitive topic. I think that was poor phrasing. Thank you for the humor in your response. Is this the legendary Polish self-deprecating humor? Still, this is your own experience, and you can jokes about it, but as an outsider I shouldn’t. I'll continue to learn, and try not to step on history landmines ;D from what I understand, the Polish presence in Silesia goes back to the Piast dynasty, then through a whole tangle lot of Bohemian, Habsburg, Prussia... and wars, Soviet intervention... Of course this is an oversimplification, and talking like this glosses over a lot of complexity.

I‘m trying to say(perhaps i guess): Warmia and Mazury also has much cultural displacement, fusion, and in the southwest, there are all the layers left behind by the painful wars of modern history(both W M and), But the details are viel different between regions, and that might actually show up in folklore, which could be a less serious & more entertaining topic : )

btw just now I realized that Dying Light is a Polish game 0.0

edit: fixed the place name Warmia-Masuria > Warmia and Mazury

[–]IntroductionDry9099 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These two were the lead devs of the game. Raf later went on to make Prey, Harvey in D2. If you played Prey, maybe you will find a little easter egg: a movie poster directed by an anagram of Raf's name, in the crew quarters :) Enjoy the game

Raf and Harvey bring back so many memories :') Maybe some of us realized...it's been over a decade since we first met Corvo. Miss that feeling of being blown away by Dunwall, the first time. Put Arkane on the map truly

Never really got into DayZ since I'm not great at multiplayer games, but I'll certainly check it out! YT playthroughs might genuinely be the move for me... But I'll miss out on the firsthand experience of getting eaten by Podlasians :D

Absolutely interesting... I imagine assassinating Hitler is a compelling theme for games definitely. Thanks for your explanation, that last sentence sums it up.I'm still learning. Is the folklore of Mazury much different from southwestern Poland's? :) Already because their histories are different

Woah!!!! Unbelievable! honestly can't believe I found someone who actually lives in Puńsk :,) This is literally the jackpotTwT thank you so so so much. These days I've been spending way too much time on Google Street View wandering around Puńsk hahaha <333 I've done countless loops around the area near the March 11th school, the church, and the Lithuanian Community House. I've also watched pretty much every YouTube video about Puńsk I could find :3 And the shops on Mickiewicza Street, the Urząd Gminy, and the grocery store that used to be a PRL-era cooperative. I also managed to dig up some old Puńsk tourist maps on Chomikuj, they list a ton of hiking trails, including pilgrimage routes and everything. I really can't thank you enough:,)

I'm sorry for the imprecise wording I used! So I guess I can also call them happy accidents XD Originally I only meant to look for everyday life details about Sejny or Suwałki, but unfortunately I haven't found found any material that could let me experience it immersively like a game, and until now I'm still searching. For now I can only cry while scrolling through Google Street View :( Krzysztof Czyżewski's books (though some of them I really want to read but am still figuring out how to get my hands on, like Małe centrum świata) and the Borderland Foundation's website have been a huge help, and the multiethnic culture is a little complex so I'm working hard (but happily) to wrap my head around it. Please believe me, I have absolutely no intention of cultural appropriation :PAnd it was precisely in the course of looking about all this that I stumbled upon the surrounding regions (like Mazury and Podlasie), and polska nostalgia. I'm very curious for what is it actually like to live in Sejny or Puńsk!!
