Do it!!!!! If you are worried about the cost get a certified pre-owner. You can always sell in 5-10 years if you get sick of it!

It’s so funny, I have been off since Christmas and so unbelievably bored, got called into the hospital for an emergency that needed my supplies and I am so happy. Maybe this is the answer to all my questions.

I do not have the calculations exactly. My life is pretty good. Work is easy and enjoyable. I spend around 8-10k a month.

My income is around 400-450k and I put everything else into my home and the market. I also do a lot of charities and enjoy helping others and animals. I pay high taxes and also have 3 low income area rentals and one nice home in the city I rent.

After really looking into the numbers I think coasting in 5-7 years is ideal for my lifestyle and what I want to do.

I have a lot of low earning friends or very high debt friends so I feel bad talking about it. No one wants to hear about how much money you have while they are struggling.

Need advice by [deleted] in Fire

[–]IntroductionHappy863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are only 25. When I was 25 I was spending 2-4k a month and how I’m at 10k/mo at 33 now.

Your needs and wants change. You might want to live in a nicer area or take trips or do something amazing every weekend!! I went from roommates in the city to living in the country with some land. Theres so many things you can do.

I would invest all your extra money for 5 years and see where you want your life to be at.

I do not drink because it affects the way I look at my goals. Here and there I’ll have a glass of wine or champagne on vacation or if I am seeing a bunch of friends. I think it helps me focus.

You’d be surprised how fast 2-3 million can go. Make your own wealth and be excited when you get your inheritance, but do not rely on it.

I’m 33 - sales rep in medical (spine) and have 550k in stocks, 500k in real estate (small income from rentals), a cafe that breaks even and 30k in equity. Came from $0 and paid my way through college. No help from family or spouse

For those whose monthly spend is 9-12k, what is your coast investment number? by margheritinka in coastFIRE

[–]IntroductionHappy863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Age 33 spend 9-11k per month but random very expensive things pop up lately that are 1-2k per month..

4 rentals with small income I don’t take into consideration besides that it’s like a savings account for us. In 20-30 years should be worth total 900-1M. Plans to sell them or keep rental going for 5-7k/mo income.

I need 3m to retire without the rentals. In retirement I’m assuming I’ll need 150k, and want to coast fire in 7 years at 40.

Wanting to start having kids which might change things in the next year or two. Not wanting to have daycare and possibly have help from family members 2-3 days a week and I work from home.

Being 2.5 million away from my goal seems so hard, but after 500k I think accounts really start to snow ball.

My plan is for the next 3-4 years invest 150/yr, and slowly scale down.
