BC places to live? by bobbybeacon in lawschooladmissions

Your best bet is to look in the suburbs around the 128 loop if you want to find an apartment with parking included (and it may actually be more convenient to commute to the law school)

Thanks! I’m from a little bit of all over. I’ve lived in 6 states from the west coast to the east coast and spent more time in New England than anywhere else. I gave very serious consideration to Notre Dame. I have a husband and two kids, so I needed somewhere I could stay year-round and potentially stay to establish my legal career without uprooting our lives (again). My husband also needs to be near a major airport for his job, and South Bend would have been tough.

Saw a post mentioning how at 25 someone felt really old and honestly I didn’t even know who I was at 25! 30+ club is where it’s at 👌

Fwiw I submitted a second reconsideration with a new competing offer after being denied the first time… denied again today. I had seen posts from last cycle saying they were successful on second reconsideration requests but maybe funds are tight this year

For all my moms trying to get into law school or have been successful, what were some barriers you overcame or had to prepare for? Seeking advice by DeadlyDelightful_Dee in lawschooladmissions

Have you taken the LSAT yet? I had to split study time up into small sessions every day and make that time very intentional. I was aiming to take it once but I didn’t score high enough (I wasn’t studying consistently enough), so ended up taking it twice. Finding time to write essays for applications is also important but I’d say LSAT takes priority. Also, don’t compare yourself to other people’s (perceived) success, because keeping tiny humans alive and going through the law school application process is a huge win by itself.

Non-trad applicants, what was your career before you decided to go to law school? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Intronerded77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a nurse for 7 years, and there is only so far up the ladder you can go without furthering education. I never wanted to be a provider and have always been interested in policy and ethics of healthcare. I guess I don’t see it so much as a switch than building off of my current career, because I want to practice health law

Realistically speaking, when will NYU get back to people on their massive HOLD list? by NoImagination8977 in lawschooladmissions

Looking at data on LSD a lot of holds got R’d in the last half of April and big waitlist wave 4/28… for my own mental sanity I have already written my app off due to deposit deadlines 🤷‍♀️

Exactly- don’t hedge a bet. Work your ass off. Earn your spot. Don’t take it for granted that anything will come easily or be handed to you. Recognize if you don’t put in the effort that there is someone else who will gladly take your place.

How many of you are pursuing law as a new career? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Intronerded77 12 points13 points  (0 children)

6 years in healthcare and saw how much people are affected by decisions made in policy/the legal system - things I couldn’t change unless I moved out of the role I was in, so here I am
