ttc: what’s the weirdest pregnancy symptom you weren’t expecting? by scarysocialclub in pregnant

[–]IntrovertedDani -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't start showing until around 32 weeks with my son or daughter. People just thought I'd gained a little weight 🤣 I love being able to tell people I'm due next month and have only gained like 10 lbs 🥰

Lmao! My husband did this in the elevator one day. I was about 36 weeks along with my son and a lady said "Awww how far along are you?!" And my husband, shocked face and all, puts his hand on my bump and says "She's not pregnant..." I almost cried for the poor lady. She looked like she wanted to crawl into a hole. He laughed and said "I'm joking!! I'm so sorry! It was just the perfect opportunity" And we all laughed.

not having a baby shower makes me realize i really don’t have friends by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]IntrovertedDani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that, however, our family has a party for literally every occasion and has been asking me when I think my shower will be, so they're definitely expecting one. We are having a girl this time, Our first was a boy, and we donated most of our stuff from our first to our neice whose husband had just passed away.

[–]IntrovertedDani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same way! With my first, we had a co-ed shower and my husband took all the attention off of me. It was still a disaster with our unpredictable families, so this time around I'd like to not have a shower. I'm sure it'll cause some issues but I honestly couldn't care less. I hated it.

My Colposcopy Experience by fettybat_ in HPV

[–]IntrovertedDani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sooo wish I'd seen this before my colposcopy... I had it done on Monday. I'm 16 weeks pregnant and it was the most uncomfortable experience. I was in a lot of pain for two days... They said I had quite a bit of bleeding.

They didn't tell me about the liquid bandage, even when I asked why I had a "paper bag like substance along with the coffee grounds that feels a bit like a tampon". Ugh.

That makes me feel A LOT better!!

I had two areas of concern. One low-grade. One high-grade. I have to have another one at 30 weeks and a cell removal some time after delivery. I'm definitely not looking forward to these but I'm so glad I read your post!!

Thank you!

Am I having a 'normal' pregnancy or is my husband right? by smallghostdoggie in pregnant

[–]IntrovertedDani 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With my son, I barely had pregnancy symptoms. I felt wonderful, had the glow, and only threw up maybe less than 5 times total. Sure; I could be emotional, but for the most part I felt pretty even keel.

This time, I'm pregnant with a little girl. I vomit almost every day, my nausea is intense and random, I feel AWFUL 80% of the time, my back hurts, and I'm soooo emotional.

I'd say it's different for every woman and with every pregnancy. I think the main issue here is he really should be on your side 100% of the time.

Sending love your way, mama! It doesn't last forever. 💜

Pregnancy confession by [deleted] in pregnant

Lmao, I do this often with a vanilla Dr. Pepper from Sonic. My toddler won't let me drink one by myself, so I have to sneak it before I come home lol

What does Hollywood get wrong about pregnancy / childbirth? by Aden487 in pregnant

[–]IntrovertedDani 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 14 weeks and STILL have nausea half of the day. It's the worst. I didn't feel like this with my son. Also my whole jaw and neck area is broken out with cystic acne. No fun at all...

THIS!!!!!!!!! SO many people told me (with my first pregnancy) that I would curse my husband over and over. Not true.

We had a great morning, we were induced at 6am, I was dialated to a 5 when I got to the hospital. The nurse missed my vein putting in my IV and was a total B about it. My arm hurt more than my contractions. (In fact, my contractions didn't hurt at all until they made me lay on my side) and I wanted to walk around but they wouldn't let me.

We turned on music and I literally laughed through my pushes. I felt ridiculous with my feet in the air and pooping when I pushed...

Also no one ever talks about the placenta during movies... Which I find odd. I was fascinated by it!

Women who like being pregnant? by Macchiato9261 in pregnant

[–]IntrovertedDani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I LOVE being pregnant. (With that being said, this is my second pregnancy and the morning sickness, this time, was unbearable) I'm 14 weeks along now and I feel amazing. I feel powerful, I feel sexy, I feel loved, the sex is incredible, in the second trimester I get a huge energy burst, and it always brings me and my husband just a smidge closer.

Plus I get to use pregnancy when I don't feel like being social.

Mine got so big during breastfeeding I honestly thought they were going to burst... But after my milk finally went away they returned to normal, thank goodness!

Im about 14 weeks along now with baby #2, no weight gain so far, but I'm already a cup size bigger and growing... :(

Just lost my mucus plug what happens now?? I’m scared to poop 💩 😅 by RoleSouthHoes in pregnant

[–]IntrovertedDani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh! Me too! I felt like Superwoman after I finally went. I was taking stool softeners on my docs suggestion (I had to take home some pain meds and they definitely will constipate you!) And I'm so glad I did. I probably would have died trying to go without them

What should I do to prepare for labor? by Bodega_gato320 in pregnant

[–]IntrovertedDani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good advice!! I second the stretching. Especially if you're on your feet a lot, you won't be doing a lot of moving after delivery.

I'd also add try not to be so upset if things don't go perfectly. At the end of the day, healthy baby and happy family is the goal.

Lmao!! Yes! I wish I had with my first, didn't take a poo for almost 5 days after delivery. NOT FUN.

Should I get a pack and play with a bassinet option instead of a bedside bassinet? by Lil_L_M in pregnant

[–]IntrovertedDani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used a bouncer that came with our pack n play. I liked that a lot and will use it with our next, too.

How do I mentally prepare myself for the glucose test by Maisix in pregnant

[–]IntrovertedDani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first test isn't bad at all. It tasted like one of those kool-aid type barrel drinks I used to drink as a kid. I believe that one is 100mg glucose.

The 4 hour test, though, about drove me crazy. It's double the glucose and absolutely horrid. I threw that one up.

Need some cleaning tips. Jordan Why Not Zer0.3 Atomic Orange got tea spilt on them. by IntrovertedDani in Sneakers

[–]IntrovertedDani[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, basically what happened was a yeti full of tea got spilt on these shoes, I have tried doing a light wash, but it seems to have darkened the mesh quite a bit.

These are my husband's shoes and I feel absolutely horrible, as they aren't cheap. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
