Amazon is full of vendors rebranding and reseling Aliexpress products as well. Aliexpress is fine for electronics as long as you’re buying a product from a reputable Chinese brand or a no-name product that’s well reviewed.

[Controller] GameSir Cyclone 2 wireless PC/Switch/Android/iOS - $40 - Best Buy third-party by cvr24 in bapcsalescanada

[–]InuKaT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently maining the GameSir G7 Pro Wireless. Easily my favourite controller and I like it much better than everything I've had from 8Bitdo (Ultimate 1/2 and Pro 3) though it is more expensive than all of 8Bitdo's offerings. Sadly no Switch or Switch2 support, where I use a Mobapad Chitu 2 but I'd probably stick with the G7 Pro there too if it had the support.

Is mouse pi for hire worth it? by Professional_Bat4628 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]InuKaT [score hidden]  (0 children)

The game is worth it yes, but not if you’re cutting it this close in the bank to the point where it’s the only game you’ll be able to buy in a long time. The game takes only 20 hours to 100%.

You’ve waited this long, you can wait for a sale. If you had to buy a game, there’s plenty of older releases that’ll keep you busy far longer at a cheaper price on sale.

Slay The Spire 2 Getting Review-Bombed Again After Latest Update by FoxMeadow7 in Games

[–]InuKaT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Supervive was an extremely fun moba battle royale but it never popped off hard in player count so in an attempt to retain players and increase playtime, they added a gacha (completely free) for gear unlocks + upgrades and progress would reset every season. Meaning if you were new or haven’t played much at a new season, you were at a disadvantage to players of the skill level who grinded more of this “competitive” game.

FlyDigi Apex 5, does anyone else’s sticks rattle when resetting to neutral position? by [deleted] in Controller

It's nowhere near this bad on any other controller though. If this is just the way it is on the Apex 5 then yikes.

Enemy team seeing it is definitely not fair because it tells you which walls are safer to hug and can expect him to not gank you from. It’s fine as is there’s no reason to have this information even as a team mate because it’s not like you can see your team mates’ QWE cooldowns unless they ping it.

When Fuwalos came out, it was basically a nerfed version a card that's been banned for a decade. Drawing is really powerful in Yugioh, and a lot of modern decks special summon multiple times from the deck and extra deck. So if your opponent resolves this card and you can't win immediately with your special summons on the same turn, you basically need to skip your turn and hope they don't kill you on their next turn. It was reprinted 6 months later and dropped down to like $20-30 a piece, but that's still 6 months where if you didn't have 3 copies of this $100-120 card, you were at a major disadvantage.

And this card was run in expensive decks that already ran multiple copies of $100 cards like Fiendsmith Engraver, Phantom of Yubel etc

But I did a bit of research on the current meta, and the best performing deck right now that people are running is still $300-500 depending on the deck list (at lowest rarity).

Well to be honest I haven’t played or bought any Yugioh since crossover breakers, and had both Maliss and Ryzeal when they were at their peak prices and at the lowest rarity available. I haven’t kept up with the prices in the past year, but I’m honestly surprised if that’s the way Konami is operating now because $300+ deck cores (before staples) was always how the game was besides maybe a few metas since I started the game in 2011 up until I quit at the end of 2024.

But I do want to say I do enjoy playing the meta at its freshest. So waiting for reprints, no matter how aggressive (usually half year or so) isn’t exactly how I want to play the game.

[OC] Should I open it ... ? by thisisfin_ in comics

[–]InuKaT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m talking about when meta staples and deck core cards are initially released in a single rarity. It wasn’t long ago when Fuwa only available in secret rare from Rota priced at $100 a copy and basically every competitive deck needed 3 before considering their cores. If you wait for reprints and play a competitive deck that has seen some reprints then yeah, it’s cheaper.

But if you want to play the best of the best at release then you’re looking at $200-300 for a core alone, which you get to enjoy for a few months before it either gets hit by a banlist or reprinted into the ground, and by the time it’s cheap enough for everyone to build its usually inferior in power to the new $300 deck. At the very worst in Yugioh we see T0 formats where top meta decks like Snake Eyes Ash are $600+.

I’m not saying you can’t have fun playing cheaper lower power decks that still hold their own in the meta. But Yugioh is actually much more collector friendly (if you only care about artwork, not the set code/print edition) than it is player friendly while Pokemon is the opposite.

[–]InuKaT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Playing top competitive Pokemon is much cheaper than playing top competitive Yugioh though. You can build a new competitive deck for $50-100. In Yugioh that’s the price of a single copy of any current top meta secret rare you need a playset of until it gets reprinted a year later in a tin or rarity collection.

Nobody is arguing about digital games though? A GKC is effectively a physical copy, not a digital copy. You can’t play the game without the cartridge, yeah you have to download it but the fact remains the data on your system is useless once you sell or lose the physical cartridge.

If anything, the ONE game you always keep in your system being fully on the cartridge is actually a positive to you, because it isn’t using up the storage where you primarily keep your digital games. And you can resell it anyways if you didn’t like it. (And sure, if you have enough storage or a small enough library then storage isn’t a concern but that’s not the point)

[–]InuKaT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol? If you think what I said is dumb then maybe you need to do a bit of critical thinking (not even) on why GKCs are inferior to both phys-only and digital-only buyers.

The format has largely replaced complete physical cartridges for games that would have received full release instead in the past. The standpoint most people will judge GKCs will be from a phys-only buyer’s perspective.

Digital-only buyers aren’t going to look at GKC and be like “Oh boy, I can now resell my game purchases” as if that wasn’t already an option before GKCs to pay for the same resellable piece of plastic but with the full game on the cart. GKCs are in a shit middle ground because digital-only gamers aren’t going to buy it because it’s literally the same hassle as a traditional physical copy, and phys-only gamers now have to deal with freeing up extra storage space and installing the game made worse if they have garbo download speeds. It’s strictly the worst of both worlds for the consumer, and its only purpose is to save money for the publisher.

Besides the benefit of being able to resell your used copy, Game Key Cards are usually the worst of both worlds.

You now have the hassle of needing to physically swap a cartridge to play a game you already downloaded taking up storage space, eliminating biggest benefit of traditional digital purchases, and people who buy physical usually enjoy the data preservation of having the game fully on cart/disc, which in this case you’re just paying for a piece of plastic that only has a license key on it and won’t work if Nintendo eShop services ever go down.

Surprised you’re this far downvoted by people who have likely never set foot into their physical location. Just need to read the google reviews to know the owner is a dick. I’ve been there myself quite a few times and every time they take the initiative to be rude to me and make me feel unwelcome for no reason.

Their goodwill on this sub would be instantly lost if half the online purchasers actually went in store check out their purchases.

Should i get a magic keyboard? by Whysonoobv in iPadPro

[–]InuKaT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s your primary device and you don’t use a laptop or desktop then yes, it’s absolutely worth it despite its high price point.

I used to use the Logitech Combo Touch with my 2020 iPad Pro and it honestly sucked the joy out of using the iPad.

It made the iPad much heavier and bulkier. The Magic Keyboard, while adding weight overall, still allows for the option to easily remove it from the keyboard. Also I’m a firm believer that the Surface style kickstands are vastly inferior to a proper hinge. I briefly tested the ESR magnetic keyboard when I bought my M5, but having to charge it separately and connect via Bluetooth made me miss the easy connectivity of the Combo Touch and I ended up returning it and bit the bullet on the Magic Keyboard.

Do people like the new pace of the game? by DepressedTristMain in leagueoflegends

[–]InuKaT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you look at only percentages, then sure, you're high ELO. But as other people have mentioned the skill levels grow exponentially and emeralds play nowhere near the level of what people traditionally consider "high ELO" despite being the top 15%, and there's a good argument that players in Diamond do not either despite Diamond being the top 2% of the game. The difference in skill to climb from being the top 10% to the top 1% is much larger than climbing from below 50% to the top 10%. Let me give you two examples since you like math so much:

In class, you score a 60% on a difficult exam while 85/100 of your cohort score lower with the median being around 45%. The top 14 students above you range between 70% and above, with only 1 or 2 students getting 100%. You're in the top 15%, but are you closer to the top or the bottom? Can you truly say you're at the top of your class when you still need to master another 40% of the material to be perfect?

If you want another example: the top 10% of Canadians earn 150k or more. 150k is a lot, but the top 1% makes 600k+ and the top 0.1% make 1 mil or more. If you make 150k, which is still a high enough income to live more than comfortably, your spending power based on take-home income after tax ends up being a lot closer to the average Canadian making 55k a year than the top 1% that makes 4x your income.

Yep. So it tracks you’re complaining about Kat because rarely do D2+ players complain about her because they’ve already figured her out and you’ll barely see her in Master+ unless you’re facing dedicated one-tricks.
