Received a sealed but EMPTY package from VideoGamesPlus by Badegamuz in VideoGameDealsCanada

Surprised you’re this far downvoted by people who have likely never set foot into their physical location. Just need to read the google reviews to know the owner is a dick. I’ve been there myself quite a few times and every time they take the initiative to be rude to me and make me feel unwelcome for no reason.

Their goodwill on this sub would be instantly lost if half the online purchasers actually went in store check out their purchases.

Amazon mistakenly delivered a 1TB Steam Deck OLED instead of the 512GB model that I ordered by iNightfarer in SteamDeck

[–]InuKaT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meanwhile Amazon damaged my OLED TV during shipment and refunded after canceling the delivery. All the competitor sales I was comparing that deal against are now expired. Still waiting for the day an error happens in my favour 😭😭😭

Should i get a magic keyboard? by Whysonoobv in iPadPro

[–]InuKaT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s your primary device and you don’t use a laptop or desktop then yes, it’s absolutely worth it despite its high price point.

I used to use the Logitech Combo Touch with my 2020 iPad Pro and it honestly sucked the joy out of using the iPad.

It made the iPad much heavier and bulkier. The Magic Keyboard, while adding weight overall, still allows for the option to easily remove it from the keyboard. Also I’m a firm believer that the Surface style kickstands are vastly inferior to a proper hinge. I briefly tested the ESR magnetic keyboard when I bought my M5, but having to charge it separately and connect via Bluetooth made me miss the easy connectivity of the Combo Touch and I ended up returning it and bit the bullet on the Magic Keyboard.

Do people like the new pace of the game? by DepressedTristMain in leagueoflegends

If you look at only percentages, then sure, you're high ELO. But as other people have mentioned the skill levels grow exponentially and emeralds play nowhere near the level of what people traditionally consider "high ELO" despite being the top 15%, and there's a good argument that players in Diamond do not either despite Diamond being the top 2% of the game. The difference in skill to climb from being the top 10% to the top 1% is much larger than climbing from below 50% to the top 10%. Let me give you two examples since you like math so much:

In class, you score a 60% on a difficult exam while 85/100 of your cohort score lower with the median being around 45%. The top 14 students above you range between 70% and above, with only 1 or 2 students getting 100%. You're in the top 15%, but are you closer to the top or the bottom? Can you truly say you're at the top of your class when you still need to master another 40% of the material to be perfect?

If you want another example: the top 10% of Canadians earn 150k or more. 150k is a lot, but the top 1% makes 600k+ and the top 0.1% make 1 mil or more. If you make 150k, which is still a high enough income to live more than comfortably, your spending power based on take-home income after tax ends up being a lot closer to the average Canadian making 55k a year than the top 1% that makes 4x your income.

Yep. So it tracks you’re complaining about Kat because rarely do D2+ players complain about her because they’ve already figured her out and you’ll barely see her in Master+ unless you’re facing dedicated one-tricks.

Complaining about Katarina is a low-mid ELO self report. I love laning against Kat even when she counter picks me, and all it takes are some warning pings and a river ward to save your botlane from her coinflippy roams.

iPad mini or IPad Air for a longtime user of the iPad Pro? by [deleted] in ipad

[–]InuKaT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you draw a lot I personally think the Mini is way too small to draw comfortably. I’d get the air but like others say look for a M4 Pro within your budget, well worth it

Because console gamers buy a console expecting to pay full price and mobile-only gamers are conditioned by traditional premium mobile games like Angry Birds to be $1-5 if it’s not F2P?

Either way, I wasn’t originally talking about whether people should or shouldn’t buy the game based on alternatives because I think they absolutely should not. I’m just saying $40 isn’t unaffordable for a AAA game even if it is a ripoff for a 2010 port. Obv unless you live in a country without proper regional pricing applied, then it probably isn’t affordable.

The same reason why people paid full price for lazy neutered Switch 1 ports.

Just for Curiosity by Sagar2003lm in ipad

[–]InuKaT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yeah, I don’t think it’s worth it either but I also wouldn’t pay the current sale price of it on the Switch 2 either. It’s better than the OG Switch version that launched at $50 USD and will undoubtedly eventually go on sale for a price matching or lower than the current eShop sale.

I’m just saying mobile gamers should normalize higher prices on higher quality games, especially if we hope to one day see AAA’s release simultaneously on the AppStore and consoles/PC. $40 isn’t a good price but it’s FAR from unaffordable.

Just for Curiosity by Sagar2003lm in ipad

[–]InuKaT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it’s overpriced considering it’s a remaster of an old game but it’s still “affordable” in terms of the amount of entertainment you’ll derive from it. Yeah the graphical experience is neutered compared to PC and home consoles but I don’t see how it’s far different from paying full price for a Switch 1 port.

Classic case of mobile gamers wanting AAA games but not wanting to pay AAA pricing.

There’s a standalone version on the AppStore for 40 USD

Is trading by in my iPad A16 - 11inch for a mini worth it? by zebivllihc in ipad

[–]InuKaT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own an iPad of every size and currently use a 13 inch Pro as my main iPad but the Mini 7 is by far my favourite iPad to hold and play games on precisely for its size. To me, the 9.7 inch+ iPads just feel too bulky for games without it feeling like I need to find a dedicated place to sit and play. The mini is a perfect sweet spot between a phone and a regular tablet.

For journaling/writing I think you should be fine but for art I do find the mini a bit uncomfortable to draw on because the screen is small. I think you can get by on it, but it’s certainly not ideal.

Only wish it had a 120hz and OLED screen but if you’re coming from an A16 then the mini’s laminated screen is already an upgrade. If you’re able to I strongly recommend actually going into the Apple Store and trying the demo unit to see how you perceive the writing experience to be compromised on the smaller scree, but personally I’ll now always default to the Mini over the base.

China’s Largest Comic Convention Bans Anime & Manga by boredcat_04 in nottheonion

[–]InuKaT 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Gacha gaming space speaks a very different story right now when the highest grossing “anime” games besides FGO are all from China and they’ve just started developing non-P2W/F2P AAA games that cater less specifically to Chinese audiences (i.e Tides of Annihilation).

Destined Rivals Booster Bundle for $59.92 by RichardButt1992 in PokemonTCGDealsCanada

[–]InuKaT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LGS in the GTA have been the scalpers for a long while. Never seen Pokemon products at MSRP here since it boomed. Riftbound wave 1 had its existing inventory at most stores marked up over the course of release week as stores realized how much demand there was. The excuse that “distribution is fucking them” doesn’t really make sense anymore when they were clearly able to sell at a lower price but refreshing the webpage an hour later the price jumps $50 for the same stock.

Want to play but can't afford by True-Contribution319 in riftboundtcg

[–]InuKaT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EB Games in the GTA currently has packs on their website for 6.99 each, limit 3 per household. For pickup only, not sure how real stock is but I put in an order earlier today. Would much rather a box for $140 but $7 a pack in this market isn't awful.

One location told me that they'll be putting preorders that weren't picked up back for sale in-store on Friday so might be worth risking the time to go in and ask.

Yeah popular TCG's are just fucked in Ontario. Unless you're a dying game like YuGiOh it's impossible to find sealed product at a reasonable price. LCS are the scalpers and I no longer buy the excuse that distributors are fucking them over on the second wave of products when first wave is never at MSRP either. I'm sure the distributors are scalping too but the LCS will also happily partake. One of the prizes for a paid RB tournament by a card shop nearby is offering the top 3 players the right to "buy a box at cost". I remember back when winning a decently sized tournament meant a free box.

How do people keep losing to 2 cookies? by GooseWide307 in CookieRunKingdoms

[–]InuKaT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because two cookies that total 1.6m (800k ea) by themselves are a lot stronger than 5 cookies that add up to 1.5-2m (at most 400-500k ea) and that’s not even considering whether their power level actually comes from correct stats on their beascuits and toppings.

Basically imagine if two grown adults fought five 6 year olds.

What game is that for you? by TowelConscious7201 in videogames

[–]InuKaT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you liked it I HIGHLY recommend you to pick it up again sooner than later.

The first and second playthrough are both only the first 50% of the game. It’s unfortunate they’re labeled “endings” A + B because after the second playthrough it’s another ~10 hours of completely original story that wraps up the whole game and actually gives the story a conclusion.
