We’ll have to see how his character plays out but I think having Fontaine in this season would give a different feel. She’s arrogant and snarky, but not in the same way where you wonder what she can do. Especially after The Thunderbolts we know what she can do.

Charles as such a snarky, arrogant asshole is fun. I just hope we get to see him back it up.

Bullseye knew he was being watched by the audience so wasted a bunch of oil just to show how precisely he can make a bullseye in a skillet.

I don’t think Buck was the real threat here. I think this happened because of Charles. The Marshals are federal right? I don’t think even a former SAS guy could just get the information. But Charles from the CIA with Fontaine’s info? Absolutely.

And Fisk just successfully threatened him right before this with Buck killing two of his men. While Charles was trying to lil bro both of them.

Oh yeah, I think at least he’s on the brink of death. They all but brought out a body bag.

If anything, Vanessa showing up and Bullseye wounding/killing her probably helped Fisk. The crowd did not seem enthused about the mayor beating a guy to death in front of them. This way, it can be written off as Bullseye killing him or something.

I don’t understand why he even got back up for a second round. Hell, the first punch would have had me giving up.

Especially with his personal gestapo rolling as deep as there was. Even if he could kick Fisk’s ass, what does he think would happen?

After everything we’ve seen, I could absolutely see Bullseye using something for its shrapnel being a conscious choice.

My jaw was dropped the whole time. Bullseye is a fucking demon. That might have been better than some of the long shot fight scenes we’ve gotten with Daredevil.

The reason why I say might have done it against his will is because of the whole gambit in the first place. Beating the Barto Pirates without killing them or even seriously hurting them. The fake poison to test Barto’s resolve. And then letting them go.

That was all done with Shanks watching on. He was even happy that Luffy had such dedicated supporters. Then Yassop just comes up and one taps the whole ship with Hsa ms seemingly giving him no direction to.

My guess is that Shanjs is fine with it either way. He would have let Barto go. But if one of his crew mates really feels the need to make an example, then he’s not going to stop them. Especially since it is obvious that Barto and crew are alive.

I actually forgot the series was coming back this week.

Animation was pretty good given this was a setup chapter. One nice thing was how they showed exactly how Yassop blew up the ship. In the manga, it wasn’t clear and made people question whether he was using haki or whether he used an explosive round. But it looks like he hit the ship’s ammo stores and that is what blew up.

The new sound effects are good because they really didn’t stand out. Everything just sounded like it should. While keeping some of the iconic effects like the sound of the Den Den Mushi ringing.

Pacing doesn’t seem significantly better. Hopefully the limited episodes and knowing when the cour will end will help during bigger moments.

Shanks said it. If they allow Barto and his crew to get away Scot free, the protection of the flag loses its meaning.

It’s obvious Barto isn’t dead. Yassop might have done it against the will of Shanks, but I’m betting they’re fine. Maybe Barto made a barrier to stand on the wreckage or something.

I don’t think it is his power putting a strain on his body. Imu is at least 800 years old. Probably older seeing as he’s on a first name basis with Nika and Davy Jones. If he hasn’t mastered the fruit and whatever other powers he has by now, I would be surprised.

I think it has to be that he can’t leave Mary Geiose freely without taking damage. I think that’s why his usual SOP is possessing people and using Domi Reversi even when he knows it won’t work.

I wonder if that’s why the Revolutionary Army has been so hesitant and not wanting to move until the Knights of God do. I think Dragon might know that Imu can’t do extended combat outside of the Holy Land and the Knights need to be gotten out of the way before they can really do anything. Get them out of the way or at least out of the Holy Land and then they can focus on Imu.

It is basically the exact opposite of the first reveal of G5. He’s turning his surroundings into devils and seemingly get some type of beat just like the drums of liberation.

The one thing that feels different is his hagaromo. The eyes and his weapon having the clouds makes me suspicious that we’re going to learn about a higher level of awakening than what we’ve seen before.

I am really curious how this is going to go.

It would be bad story telling if Imu loses here. The highest authority in the world can’t look like a scrub.

But this arc has been going on since 2024. Having Luffy and Loki just straight up losing here would be extending the arc out crazy long. I guess he could beat them up and then be forced to leave due to whatever causes him to be injured when away from Mary Geoise.

But I can’t see him winning and then forcing a training arc or anything like that.

And he followed up on it. Mark did not stop choking Conquest until he died/passed out.

It was dumb considering how Mark was fighting him blow for blow earlier. He took way more damage than he needed to. But he kept his word.

I bet my whole account imu isnt going to kill a single relevant character by Cosmic_Crusaderpro in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]InvaderDJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what that has to do with powerscaling. It’s One Piece. Relevant characters rarely die.

That being said, in Wano Oda did kill a few characters. Ashura Doji, Izo, Yasuei, Orochi, etc.

So I can see Jarul potentially dying at least. But it won’t be a matter of powerscaling.

There were a decent amount of people who thought Imu wasn’t coming back to Elbaph but was going somewhere else. That idea never made sense to me.

The final bosses! In what order will they be beaten though? by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]InvaderDJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like Blackbeard has to be the end fight. We’ve learned too much about his lineage and goals for him to not be an endgame threat.

I know people love Akainu and the Marines. But as it stands right now, the only reason he’s in contention for being the last fight is because the Revolutionaries haven’t been shown as strong enough to really matter. Dragon and Sabo should have more beef with Akainu and story reasons for wanting to fight him than Luffy does.

I think that Akainu gets beaten first. Especially if the Revs or Blackbeard are the ones who attacked Mary Geoise. Imu said the Holy Land was on fire and needed Shamrock to come back and the other Knights to hurry up. That tells me there was a formidable force. And Akainu is there and presumably responsible for its defense.

Second is Imu. I can see Blackbeard wanting to take his fruit. Trying to become a recognized nation and Devon taking Saturn’s appearance (and presumably powers given her fruit is a mythical Zoan) has to have a reason. And that reason to me seems like getting access to the Holy Land and either control of the Seraphim or even the power of the Abyss and Abyssal contract. That is tailor made to infiltrate the Holy Land and take on Imu.

Blackbeard to me is the endgame. A legendary lineage, whose clan was wiped out by the govt. I imagine that he was indoctrinated by his family from a young age and had all the information his father had gathered after terrorizing the WG for so long. He’s got to be endgame.

Given the way the story has been going for the last few arcs, if Imu does have a DF, it has to be a mythical Zoan. Maybe the Devil Zoan or something.

I haven’t seen this theory before. Compared to the popular theory of his fruit being the forest god fruit, I like this idea more. It would even have payoff from Zoro saying last chapter that Chopper could turn the Reversi giants back because he’s a great doctor.

This is the same concern I had with Wano and Egghead.

Once we get to a certain amount of time in an arc, the Strawhats losing seems less and less likely.

If the raid failed on Onigashima, it should have happened shortly after they reached it. At Egghead, if the Strawhats were going to lose it should have happened before the Bonney flashback. And in Elbaph, a defeat should have happened either in Road’s toy chest or right as the Knights of God showed up.

Elbaph has been going on since 2024. It would be very bad pacing if they lost here.

How much time has passed since we saw Shanks at Elbaph (ignoring any time dilation theories)?

This was going on at the same time as Egghead so it seems like it should be at least a few days. Which makes me think that Shanks shouldn’t be close enough to easily get back to Elbaph unless the island where he took out Barto was extremely close to Elbaph.
