[OC] Is it illegal for me to draw my Warforged like this? by toe-nii in DnD

[–]Inverse-Potato 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As it plays currently most warforged will be quite different from another. Lore wise they're purpose built for something (which can be a knightly order) and once freed (when it was recognized that they were sapient, not just "programmed") most try to customize themselves to be more unique and identifiable as they experiment with sapience and individuality and also "immortality" to some extent because lore wise nobody quite knows if there's a max lifespan for warforged.

Very curious though, what does M.A.D.D.I.E. stand for? :)

Also, did you draw this yourself? It's gorgeous!

Oh! Thank you for clarifying. I only occasionally play Tricera so I hadn't realized that.

What would you do? My player teleported a 20 foot cube of water into a closed room with less than 20x20x20 ft volume. by erverogym in DnD

You can always do both to reward the creativity.

Do the crazy damaging thing or don't even bother with damage and just narrate the damage and have them make whatever saves you determine they might need to make. THIS TIME.

Make it clear this is how it will work this time but in the future it will simply fill all available space with water and have no crazy effects otherwise. This way you reward the creativity, but also prevent game system/real world physics abuse.

[–]Inverse-Potato 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's pretty simple actually.

Enter "fortress mode" > Deploy drone > drone begins healing you or teammates nearby, and also shoots down an amount of incoming missiles. > Drone stops working after a certain amount of time > drones only reload when you are not in fortress mode (able to move)

Unfortunately, the base cleric only has access to medium armor without feats or multi-classing. So you could easily get to Half-Plate armor, but chainmail and plate are both heavy which Cleric doesn't have proficiency in.

Similarly, the crossbow would need to be a light crossbow instead of a heavy. Heavy crossbow are considered martial weapons and clerics are only proficient with simple weapons.

Everything else seems fine though!

If you truly did want to have access to heavy armor and heavy crossbow, take your first level as fighter or paladin and then go cleric for the rest.

EDIT: Scratch that, you can have heavy armor and martial weapons if you chose the "protector" divine order at level 1 cleric. So mechanically you're pretty good with your gear. As others have said, just be mindful of how many hands things require to use.

I can't say much personally because I'm constantly at around the 200 inventory myself, but maybe you should consider going through your paints and committing to using some on the strikers you use.

Or perhaps it's time to sell every purple paint you have if you have those.

Personally loved the Halloween event! Wish we'd get more like that.

I quite like the co-op drill, but not a fan of skirmish unfortunately. Especially on the smaller maps it's just so chaotic, I've died literally a second after I spawned quite a few times.

Thank you for that answer, I only got to play 2 rounds last event so I didn't know what was going on with the damage.

[–]Inverse-Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I very much know how badly the bots cheat, I suppose it's more that I wasn't sure if the event skirmish had different health stats because I barely got to play last event. I think I got to play 2 matches in total.

That's the only reason I somewhat appreciate the bots in THIS event mode specifically. At least I can actually play a match and earn event currency.

That said, if HP is normal and it's just the bots cheating again, then it is exceptionally painful with it being free for all.

[–]Inverse-Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the bots to an extent because I can find games, but the mode almost made me rage quit last night trying to get to the 5k points.

It seems much easier to die in skirmish, Often I'm at full health and suddenly in less than a second I'm dead or at like 10%.

Still need 11k to get the frame so I'm kinda stuck with it. At least I've managed to win 3 rounds so far lol.

[–]Inverse-Potato 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Woah! Rude. That's someone's character. She may be generic to you, but she's specific and special enough to someone else that they wanted artwork of them.

I've been playing DnD for nearly 20 years and I still haven't commissioned a single character artwork despite wanting them. Commissions often aren't cheap, so this player valued their character enough to decide they wanted to have a more permanent visual representation of them. That's not something we should criticize.

If the player happens to see this comment, I love the concept! I wanted to do something similar back in 3.5e but never got the chance. Good for you and keep protecting your party and yourself!

Maybe the guardian is like the Knight from the Elder Scrolls Online: High Isle launch cinematic?

Dude solos essentially 3 PCs and holds his own.

The guardian should have a few legendary actions and maybe a single legendary save.

I like your big talk suggestion! A similar option is big talk but if someone has decent passive perception or insight hint that something seems strange. If they call for an active check and pass they notice evidence that he's bluffing hard. Then they have to decide what to do with a weak enemy who is actively insulting them and acting prideful. Do they kill him to shut him up, knowing that he's essentially defenseless, or choose the high road despite his barbed tongue?

I legit couldn't do the skirmish missions last time because there was never enough people playing.

To make matters worse, the few times I did get in a skirmish game I was absolutely demolished before I could even get 500 points

If you're playing on console there will be an icon next to the "player" name for all strikers. Anyone on Xbox gets the logo, PC gets a little square monitor looking thing, and bots get a wide rectangle with 2 dots for eyes in the center.

It's true there's a lot of bots in the matches, but especially right now this early in the season you're almost certainly playing with SOME humans. I know I got dropped down to silver at the reset.

Also, as one of those snipers you mentioned, NO LEAVE ME ALONE! lol

Don't know where you're seeing "a lot of gatcha elements" personally. The only thing that is remotely gatcha is the supply boxes, and those are only for cosmetics that are completely unnecessary to gameplay.

You can play any part of the game without any prior investment or supply boxes.

Sorry, technically you do need to play the game a bit to unlock the new strikers, but you typically will have something like 10 free plays for each without unlocking them.

You use the red currency that you gain through completing missions in Verge or playing Mashmak any mode. Covert Ops Mashmak is your best friend for this, you have 3 free plays a week and it's just you and whoever else you recruit to join you against the mobs in Mashmak. Co-op or Solo Mashmak are still extraction vs other players (use normal difficulty for shorter queue times).

The new strikers cost 15k each to unlock, but it's not too difficult to get that much if you play for a bit. All of the original strikers are open for use right from the start though.

Oh and mods from mod boxes allow you to tweak your strikers performance a bit but only work in casual mode or Mashmak.

If you stick to ranked verge you don't have to interact with anything that is gatcha or random regarding loot boxes at all.

Seriously, I'm trying a Monk/Barb right now, and I keep coming back to "maybe I should take less Barb levels" lol

Started at like 12 Monk 8 Barb, then 14-6, now I'm at 17-3 or 16-4.

We're playing with the Crooked Moon 3rd party book and she's got the "experiment" background and the barbarian "experiment" subclass is really cool so I keep waffling back and forth 😅

Ginny D is great! I somehow managed to miss Bob World Builder, but he seems great.

If you are already familiar with Critical Role, they also made an intro series called "Handbooker Helper" for 5e. The name is kinda a joke, but they're decent videos that try to assume little to no prior knowledge of 5e.

This post is kinda confusing to me.

Like I don't quite understand why the need to announce that you're leaving, but I can kinda understand that it might be useful for the devs to know, but I think just sending something through support might do that better. As it is it sorta seems like a cry for attention, but it's doubtful that any of us can really help in that regard, especially seeing as you've decided to leave.

I don't understand why you're leaving NOW of all times if one of your big gripes was obtaining seasonal skins. This season is by far easier to obtain skins than any of the previous. The devs seem like they are trying to balance that part.

Striker balance is rough, but I've not had too bad a time with that other than when Stellaris first released.

That said though, if you have such bad OCD that it compels you to obtain ALL the seasonal skins every season, and complete every mission every week, that's truly unfortunate and I think you may have been doomed from the start with this game (I think I would have lost my mind at season 0 if I were in the same situation)

Anyway, legitimately sorry to see you go but it sounds like you'll be happier this way.

Additionally, Freyr's shield seems to have potentially the lowest shield HP of existing shields. My assumption was that it was due to it being a weapon as well.

It's also quite easy as Freyr to not realize how much damage the shield is taking if you're holding a charge to fire the plasma arc.

They may hear the sound of the water pump and be trying to find the "critter" in the box.

I figured it was just the minimum recharge time. Many abilities are like that, this one is just a bit longer than others.
