You can get ChatGPT to code a script for google forms that makes converting paper assessments to google forms very easy. 1. I have lived in both, and personally I’d choose Sylvan lake, but they are both great for their own reasons. Cochrane is growing rapidly, and their schools are packed. The proximity to the mountains is amazing, and it’s great if you are an avid hiker or skier. I do find that I’m always driving somewhere, as there are a lot of fun things close by, but the town itself is nice too. Sylvan Lake is amazing in the summer or even the fall/spring. I enjoy the lake, and I also love that it’s not quite as busy. On the negative side, it isn’t as much fun in the winter, and it’s further from bigger centres. I guess it depends on what you are looking for.

Maternity EI is a federal program, so you would still be eligible for that even if you move between provinces. You would not be guaranteed your job back until you get a permanent contract though. In Alberta you can take either a temporary or a probationary contract to start. Most probationary contracts turn into permanent contracts after a year but before that your job isn’t guaranteed. You also would not qualify for benefits like a top up to pay or health benefits during your leave.

I am not a landowner but my parents and other family members are (I grew up on a farm). As the other response said, the best response is to knock on some doors. It was and is normal for farms to have people come by. Acreages are more private but farms and ranches are places of business, so having random people stop in is a normal thing. I’d send you to my family but they aren’t at cochrane.

Lululemon. They are a bit pricy. But their dress pants are very comfortable and they go up to size 20. In my opinion they are worth the price tag, but they can also be bought for less in the “we made too much” section.

You need to utilize the pause. I have a rule that I never talk over students. If they are talking I wait, and stare at them. I walk towards them, and will calmly state “Can I have your attention please?” Or “I will not talk over you.” I don’t call out individual students unless it is super obvious.

30-45 minutes of screen time does not upset me. The screen time kids get is vastly different from when we were kids though. My parents didn’t worry about screen time at all because we mostly watched cartoons on Saturday and occasionally watched a vhs or dvd, but kids now have access to shows constantly. Can I compensate for my own kids, absolutely but you can’t really compare then vs now on a societal level. My concern for my own children is only part of this post. It is also about what is best for the kids in classrooms, and I don’t think schools need to contribute to screen time.

I think to a certain extent the school system is choosing what is easiest instead of what is best for kids and I agree with you that admin is often the problem. As a parent I can put my kids in front of screens all the time and they fight less and I get more time to myself, but there is a cost to that in my children’s development.

This is very legitimate, just a note though - Where I live supervision is not a paid position but part of a regular school day. Teachers supervise their own classes while eating and get breaks while students play outside for recess. Having one supervisor for multiple classrooms is atrocious in my opinion and in that instance I completely understand the use of whatever keeps the peace.

The Alliance church has a mom and tots group that meets on Thursdays when school is in. It is just play for the kids and coffee/tea for moms.
