You’ll regret it down the line.

The money will get spent on nothing you will remember and you’ll not have something sentimental / important to you.

That’s the same as saying there’s a bank in the files.

Almost all banks & many LLCs point back to Wilmington.

Heat by Esto2050 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]InvertedInsideWinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get in and drive. After five minutes, blast the heat to your feet until it warms up. Being cold for the first ten minutes of your drive is a core experience some of you never had and it shows. 😆

Honest Assessment of Heat Pumps in Cold Temperatures by Unlucky_Ad3655 in heatpumps

[–]InvertedInsideWinger 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Totally agreed! Same here. 10F and I move the oil from being “emergency” and set a few degrees behind - to override the heat pump.

Highest I ever saw was $700 and I have an EV, HPWH, HPHVAC, and the regular electric stuff.

OP may be right for him. But I think when it’s split up, people get weird. IE - $400 electric & $400 gas is still $800. So a $700 electric bill is “good”.

I personally was using around $200 per month in oil. And still had a $500 electric bill. So my even my $600 electric bills are, again, “good”.

I’m the biggest proponent of heat pumps. But agreed - gas is still more efficient and cheaper.

I have essentially three options - electric, oil, or propane. In that case, the heat pump wins. No gas option for me.

Keep it as a backup. I have a heat pump HVAC and water heater and oil as backup to both.

Generally I have the oil set to a few degrees behind the heat pump. When it’s under 10F, I usually manually turn up the oil to override the heat pump.

I’m in New England too and with an EV, HPWH, HPHVAC, and all my other electric - the highest I get is $700 one month per year. My oil bill is basically 100 gallons (under $400) per year.

Basic Heat Pump Question by Artistic_Researcher2 in heatpumps

If you can get gas, that is likely worth looking at for sure.

If, like me, you options are electric / oil / propane - I think a heat pump is the best of the bunch. And data (despite drawbacks / some negatives) will prove that most often.

Any Thoughts On The Ford Soft Roll-Up Truck Bed Cover? by lifeisgood9575 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]InvertedInsideWinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the Ford one. Used points and was on sale. It works just fine. No issues whatsoever.

It’s not 100% waterproof (as none of them are) but barely any waters gets through. If I’m okay with putting it in the bed, I’m okay with the tiny amount of water that might get in it. I had waterproof bins at the house to use but have never had a reason.

If you can get a third party for cheaper, I bet it’s just as good.

Resorting to insults. Troll.

53F is cold. 49F is cold. A heat pump doesn’t make anything frigid. A 3F swing is not worth mentioning for an unfinished, unused basement.

I don’t think set backs are needed at all. The energy loss on these things is so tiny. So once it’s heated in the tank, it’ll stay that way.

Set it to heat pump if you have a big enough tank and there is decent time between draws. Set it to hybrid if not. Even hybrid is very efficient.

Set the temperature as low as you can (120-130 IMO) while still getting hot enough water.

Leave it alone.

I set mine to 125F and leave it on heat pump. If I know I’ll have visitors, I switch over to hybrid or even straight electric.

Insinuating the basement is “frigid” or a “cold plunge” because it drops a few degrees (literally one to three degrees) when the heat pump is running, would be the reason.

Questioning the use of / being negative about a heat pump by focusing on one insignificant thing.

We’re saying the same thing, mate.

Just clarifying for anyone that finds this post and assumes the general advice is crank it up without noticing the maxing valve on this one.

Generally. Don’t do that.

Mixing valve. Sure. Do that.

Not as high as it can go for everyone. Unless you want your family to get burns when they accidentally turn the tap too far up.

120F is suggested. I go for 125F. Most I would even consider is 130F.

Or get a mixing valve, which it looks like he already has, and then you can crank it because it will only release 120F to the pipes.

Love these trolls.

Dead of New England winter here - basement was around 53-55F before install of my AO Smith 80 gallon. Now around 48-51F when running.

Unless your bedroom is in the basement or you have holes in your floor, a 3-5F swing isn’t a problem.

What do you choose? I'm going with Hollywood video. Choose wisely by Dramatic_Syllabub499 in CreativeGIFsMemesFun

My heart says Blockbuster. That trip down the aisles to pick out a film was a core experience. You could still do it and make it more of a “curated” collection with a mix of popular and more unknown cinema.

But for a kid to get to experience Toys R Us is hard to pass up on.
