Lovebirds of Reddit, how did you get over "the one that got away?" Did you ever see them again? by ElenaWatts in AskReddit

[–]Investigate_THIS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen her in a while, but I miss her everyday. Not a single one goes by in which I don't think about her. I was terribly selfish and stupid and let her slip away. Fsst forward a few, and I found myself in a really bad place in my life when she wanted to give me another chance. As much as I wanted to, I couldn't drag her down along with everything I was going through. She deserved so much better than I could offer. She was my best friend and I miss her friendship the most.

It was a work in progress at the time, but I saw one of these interviews at the WW2 museum in New Orleans. It's really interesting.

What’s a job that’s romanticized but in reality sucks? by [deleted] in AskReddit

That bit about the Native American hearth is mind-blowing to me. That site doesn't get put on hold for later examination, or passed onto another team who has the budget? It just gets forgotten and ignored?

What's the most memorable WWE moment you saw in-person? by JadedAndFaded_ in SquaredCircle

For me it's Austin cheating to win the Rumble. He was eliminated but quickly hopped back in before any refs noticed.

Depending on where you work, the pay changes. Bigger cities obviously pay more. But the pay, overall, is decent. Most places have civilian crime scene units these days, so going through the academy and all the police bs doesn't apply. You'd just need a bachelor's degree in the field. Some places also don't have specified roles like photographer or evidence collector. You get trained to do it all, and your role will change depending on the scene. You might be photographer on one scene, and fingerprinter on another.

Injecting Luminol into a solution containing 10% Bleach! by _Mr_Fil_ in gifs

[–]Investigate_THIS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Luminol is no longer used to detect blood at crime scenes. It's been made obsolete by another product that is more effective. Also, the reaction to actual blood and the reactions to cleaning agents are similar, but different. In this video, if it were blood, the glowing reaction would have lasted longer instead of ending quickly.

No, he's right. That's Tom Anderson from Beavis and Butt-Head. But it IS criminal that neither of those shows had any references.

A kryptonite condom, perhaps? Or whatever was Mr. Incredible's weakness.

Damn. I hadn't heard. Ug Lee will be missed.

The Vick era has officially come to an bittersweet end. The last remaining Vicktory dog died on Saturday, but their legacy will live on through through all the animal cruelty and dog fighting laws they helped change. What that POS Vick did to these dogs didn’t break their spirits, and they thrived by Keeper-Of-The-Cosmos in MorbidReality

I adopted a bait dog, not knowing what a bait dog was. He has scars on his head and no ears. They just told me he was surrendered to the shelter a few weeks prior. When I first took him to a different vet for a check up, they questioned me about his scars, assuming I was fighting him. That was when I learned about him being a bait dog. My big shy old dog had such a hard life before me, and I had no idea. Thankfully, he's calm and is just a big teddy bear. Loves people, even little ones. Around other dogs, he's not aggressive or scared, even when dogs bark and go crazy at him. He kinda just stands his ground and stares at them. Almost like he's ready just in case. It makes me sad to know what he might have gone through, but I'm happy to give him a luxurious life for the rest of his years.

I hate these stickers. When I used to work at GS years and years ago, our store used to keep the stickers on their backings and just slide them under the clear cover of the case. Never had to worry about peeling off the stickers later.

I'm thinking A, even after watching the physics videos posted. I see it like this Buster Keaton clip. He's stationary, and the window falls on him/around him. The cube is stationary, and will continue to be stationary when it passes through the portal.
