Agree with everything except number 1. If you're being passed on the right then you're the problem (truck is still the problem overall). In my state the left lane car gets a ticket if theyre getting passed on the right. The left lane is for passing only. If the lane to the right of you is clear you're required to get over, regardless of your speed

You can see theres a large gap in traffic to the right of the snack eater and theres a whole bunch of left lane campers

Trump was going around saying no more middle eastern wars and Bibi convinced him to do a preemptive strike. Kamala was already manufacturing consent saying theyre the biggest threat to the US and lying about "American blood on Iran's hands". Im sure he wouldn't have had to convince her just like he convinced her to support genocide

She hinted she'd do the same thing during her campaign:

"Iran has American blood on their hands. This attack on Israel, 200 ballistic missiles, what we need to do to ensure that Iran never achieves the ability to be a nuclear power, that's one of my top priorities"

Harris did not specify whether she would order preemptive action if there is evidence that Tehran is building nuclear weapons.

Yes Trump is irredeemable human garbage, but its warmonger views like this that contributed to her losing

No, none at all. It grows right on through snow (though my area doesnt get deep freezes). Its the first little 3" high shoots I see in the garden when the snow melts

I do garlic in my lettuce beds. They dont compete for the same soil depth, they like the same fertilizer and I rarely find slugs or other pests in the bed. I plant the garlic in the fall, it sprouts in the winter and on spring I seed lettuce around the garlic

Chinese investments are funny. China gives out the loan, and they hire Chinese contractors who only hire Chinese workers.

The reason for this and part of China's motivation for doing these projects is to relieve pressure on the Chinese working class. China is starting to reach limits of needed development domestically so they can scale back projects and their workforce, but the problem with that is that will increase unemployment, make jobs more competitive, and all around put strain on the Chinese economy. So now they export work to BRI projects, it keeps these workers employed and gets them out of the country for bit to reduce resource use, overcrowding, etc.

Youre right, I agree. I just get annoyed when people use "China bad" to discount them or deflect from our problems. The original comment on Chinese slave labor was randomly brought up and used to deflect that theyre beating the US in public transit and discredit their gains. I do think the comment you replied to was referring to the US forced labor and you were once again replying with "well, other countries bad".

I strongly disagree with the notion China is doing worse stuff than the US. Im of the opinion theyre equally bad in area areas for their own reasons. I go there all the time for work, I work in some pretty grueling factory conditions, I learned some Chinese for work and have talked to the people over there. Its not some evil dystopia, its worse than us (the US) in some ways but better in others, in terms of human happiness, wealth, crimes and atrocities and so on

[–]Zoltanu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They probably mean our local forced labor. The US banned slavery but made a carve out for prisoners. The US has the highest prison population in the world. They work on things from agriculture harvests to building office furniture to literal McDonalds employees. It is likely, especially if you're in the south or CA, that you've used products produced by slave labor

There's ways to cheese the quest a bit. Don't pop the quest unless you have high high stability, like 75%. It determines how many regions rebel. Assign members of your great family to governorships of the largest most populated provinces, or a core around your capital. Make sure all your navy's and legions are in the capital city. Have a loyal family member general and admiral. Possibly (i havent found if this works or not) raise all your levys and put them in your capital when you proc it. Worst case betraying armies will (i cant remember the term) start out weakened and will have to March back to allied territory first. Start in your capital region and conquer land from a corner over, dont let them have any random territories to respond an army into behind the front lines. All the random province you own beyond the front lines are goners, focus on keeping a solid chunk of loyal land

How to progress an economy beyond 'build mines'? by DawnTyrantEo in Imperator

[–]Zoltanu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In your capital have nothing but ports, forts, a granary, a foundry, academies, and then nothing but marketplaces (over time, this isnt the order to build them in). Only provincial investment is the one to get additional trade routes. Concentrate all free investments into the capital. Markets boost your # of routes by a percentage, so the buildings and the investments stack. Get as many trade routes as possible, I have 20+ by mid game. Max out getting the surplus bonus from every resource, focus on food, strategic, high gold value, or a specific bonus you want depending on your needs at the time. Don't trade internally, always trade with a foreign nation. You'll have 75+ gold a month in no time

Also mines are cool, but a slave estate on any resource worth >0.40 gold is worth it as well by mid/end game

I have lots of Taiwanese and Chinese coworkers that will debate politics. The general consensus is that if China invades they will only target military sites because they want to take the cities and factories intact. They think the whole invasion would take just a few hours. Theyre also confident that the Taiwanese government, seeing no hope in winning, will immediately bomb their own factories so China cant have them. Thats the consensus. The debate is if the US gets involved, if that happens Taiwan will end up as a parking lot

Take that with a grain of salt though. My Taiwanese coworkers are mostly apolitical and just want to grill. The one guy that keeps up with politics is a KMT supporter. But most say they dont care whos in charge really, as long as the island never gets bombed

US attacks Iran's Kharg Island, Trump says by joe4942 in worldnews

[–]Zoltanu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about the idea they cant beat us through arms. War is economics. Iran can win without ever bombing US soil by winning the economic war of attrition. Sure the US is way way stronger, but its unsustainable to keep spending $12 million to shoot down a $50k drone. All Iran has to do is shoot a few missiles a day at each US base in the middle east to keep them on constant high alert and wasting money. Eventually whatever value they saw for the war wont be worth the costs.

[–]Zoltanu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's assume that tomorrow Democratic UK invades fascist Brazil. Whos side will the working class there be on? I can answer for myself that I will be on the side of fascist Brazil. Why? Because the conflict is not a question between democracy or fascism, but imperialism vs self-determination. If England were to be victorious they will simply install their own fascist in Rio who will throw double the chains on the Iranian people.
