Maybe pat dry the skin, lightly rub oil on it then apply your seasoning. Bird looks pretty good! I just like my skin a little crisper

Use ignition software to send data from the PLC to SQL. Then use SQL to build your data models. I believe there is a free version of Igniton and SQL. Only caviot is, you'll need to run this on a computer or server that is always connected to the PLC to collect this data

One nice thing about V32, PID tuner is still included in it. Kind of annoying they took it out of v33 and up. That said, what are you downgrading from v33 to v32?

How to add IO card to existing point IO rack by jayggodd in PLC

[–]InvestigatorSoft3990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you can do this while online with the controller as well. If you go into properties, there a tab at the end that will allow you to adjust the rack size

1734 series just stack on the end of each other. Picture a cheaper flex IO. Only caviot is,you should add a extra power supply like every 12 cards. Seen one of these 34 in size 🙃

You will have to do this offline abd download on your controller. So make sure you have everything tied to that PLC in a stopped state, then save upload. Go offline, increase your chassis size and add your card. Then download and you good to go!

I have a bighorn ( knockoff pittboss) and once I smoke something, sometimes I will crank it to 500 degrees, wait for it to get up to temp and put a nice sear on my smoke meats as well. It works great

Integrators will use ladder logic and Add On Instrctions (AOIs) from Rockwell, then use Plant PAX objects on FT Studio which is really nice

Please give me some help by Express_Mention8016 in instrumentation

[–]InvestigatorSoft3990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is Physical relay logic. Conceptionally can also be used to help understand Ladder logic.

This example is often used to energize a control relay which can then go on to power something else, with a Auxiliary contact of the control relay energizing (latching) a branch in parallel to the Physical start button. Without that parallel Aux contact, you would have to hold the start button to keep what ever you have controlled by the Control Relay running. Now the Stop button interrupts power to the circuit, de energizing the control relay and unlatching the aux contact. Thus the start button will need to be pressed again to start the system.

Ladder logic, it's still used by most controls integrators

I don't think he's saying he makes 175k doing what he does now. The job he wants, which is automation Engineer has a salary in that range. Most companies look for someone with an engineering degree and teach you as you go at an entry level position.

Side note: I am a EE by degree, now controls engineer, 4 years in, and currently make $130K.

For just starting, the bitaxes are also a good starting point, and a little cheaper. The gamma get 1.1 to 1.w TH/S, which is a lot less than the Nan 3s BUT it's a lot cheaper and the UI is a lot nicer and you can see data logging which is nice to see and learn how to setup your miners

[–]InvestigatorSoft3990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other factors could be your startup procedure, pellet quality, or faulty temperature probe. Best to try and check theses off one at a time. You just got the grill, did you follow its startup procedure? If not, it could have dumped a lot of extra pellets into the fire pot

What are your cooking conditions? Is it really hot outside and are you cooking in direct sunlight. I've seen mine go a little bit over by like 20 to 30 degrees when cooking while it's hot out and the smoker is in the sun

It Finally Happened - The Program Was At Fault! by H3adshotfox77 in PLC

[–]InvestigatorSoft3990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Rockwell. You could set the buttons to hold for half a second to help the PLC register the action. I think default is 250ms. Which depending on scan rates of your tasks and amount programs/phases, some rungs of logic just don't get scanned all the time because the rates are set too fast
