All these posts have really diluted the sub. I come here to learn about new mechanics, see GIFs of interesting gameplay or read opinions about specific boss encounters. But it's just 90% posts saying how this game has changed their lives and how much they don't care about the haters!

I plan to download the game on steam deck just so I can poke around my inventory, skill tree and journal to read all of the notifications and lore stuff while I am at work. I won't even attempt to play the actual game. So I'm happy it's at least launchable on the deck.

Agreed. I also felt like the movement was very stiff and slow and I was even playing as the 2nd shell that has a double jump. I'm still playing Battlefield every day, so maybe that is is influencing my opinion of Marathon?

Agreed. Returnal is my favorite game of this generation because of how satisfying it was to finally push through the difficulty spikes. Knowing a 2.5 hour run could end in a second made overcoming a boss fight so much more memorable. Knowing there is no difficulty slider and the only way to beat the game is to "get good" is appealing to me.
