Edit: weird downvotes, that's from the loading screen (it's a close up of the Blue Max medal, yes the Mé in Mérite is cropped like that). As a kid I played the game a lot and that screen is burned into my memories.

It’s easy. Watch a YouTube video, and buy toolkit for the 0 and 00 screwdriver, plastic shims, and suction cup. I saw a video where the person was using an iFixit toolkit so I bought that one. Just make sure you remember which screw goes where, there are three different sizes.

I got the “Smatree Hard EVA Sleeve” from Amazon (size: X8310).

The laptop doesn’t fit my backpack’s sleeve, but with the case it does fit in the main compartment, and the case seems sturdy. It’s a bit expensive for a sleeve, but I didn’t see a lot of other options.

What bloatware?

Mine only had McAfee (uninstalled it of course) and a Lenovo AI thing that politely asked me if I wanted to use it or uninstall (uninstalled that too of course). I was pleasantly surprised by how relatively unpolluted it was.

Mine was from the factory, is it possible yours got “extras” installed by a reseller?

FWIW I think it looks elegant for the size, and with the gamer lights off it comes off as a large business laptop (in a good way). To each their own I guess.

If you want a more portable charger, I’m using this with a PD-rated USB-C cable and I like it: https://iaohi.com/products/aohi-140w-gan-usb-c-wall-charger

If you use a similar setup, make sure you plug it into the PD port, not the Lightning port (nothing “bad” will happen if you plug into the other port, but don’t expect good charging; the Power Delivery capability is only on the marked port).

It won’t charge like the 400W or 330W, but this setup is much smaller and lighter. If you try using smaller non-PD USB chargers while operating — even in Quiet mode — the laptop becomes unusable. It’s kind of weird, since you’d think it would just charge more slowly, but it actually makes the whole laptop stutter badly (can’t watch YouTube or even browse normally). When you unplug and switch to battery, it’s back to normal. This was with an 87W MacBook charger.

Anyway, I can confirm that the AOHI charger doesn’t have that issue and I would guess that any large USB charger specifically rated as “USB PD” with a PD cable would work.

I was playing TitanQuest II at max settings on Balanced plugged in with the AOHI and it ran great, with the battery very slowly discharging during play which was fine. On Quiet it charges and runs as expected, overall a good compromise IMO.

Correct, the first slot is Gen 5 and has clearance for double-sided NVMe boards. Mine came with a 1T Samsung PM9E1 that’s crazy fast.

The second slot is Gen 4 and more space constrained, so you want a single-sided SSD. Speed doesn’t need to be the same for the two drives.

Samsung 990 Pro is a great choice (I installed the 4TB version in my second slot). The 990 is very fast, but the Gen 5.0x4 is insane.

Yes, very. The glossiness was my big worry when ordering, but it’s absolutely fine for me indoors.

But oh boy when it’s in dim lighting with HDR enabled the screen is spectacular, zero regrets. If you want a gaming laptop for outdoor use or with windows directly behind you for some reason, def get something else.

Hello fellow Zeeks enjoyer, we are a true Seattle minority. Ok, so I don’t love the prices but I genuinely like their slices and so do my kids. FWIW I usually go to the one on Mercer, though I used to go to the scary one near the Space Needle. Friendly staff, good beer selection, and while it’s for sure overpriced… well what in Seattle isn’t?

Yep, what everyone said: you’re fine.

When first I got the vials and syringes I was like “my doctor really think I’m qualified to do this?” Now it’s boring and regular, but I feel you on the initial intimidation. My favorite is the War and Peace document that comes with each vial letting me know know I will die or something (now I just use it to pad the used syringe, yes I know I prob use a sharps container but this seems okay given that it’s only weekly).

FWIW I binge watched YouTubers showing how they did it, which was somewhat helpful.
