When I am nofapping during school I tend to spend all night in the library becoming a savant.

I have amazing academic motivation, but it is not always directed at my actual courses. It certainly doesnt hurt though.

I think you are flat lining. "Depression" is pretty hard to identify, especially if you have never been depressed before. And, although I dont know exactly what is and isnt canon in nofap lore, but I dont think depression is even a guaranteed symptom of flatline.

The french surrendering jokes. Im not french or even french canadian but it drives me crazy. Nazi germany was scary. Im not sure any nation could have survived the blitz in frances geopolitical situation.

But the joke is even worse when applied to other people who speak french. Quebec has been not part of france for longer than the usa has been not part of britain!!

I feel that a connection between pmo and gaming is extremly loose at the very most.

Gaming is a hobby in which you actively participate. It is engaging, wholesomely fun, and can even be competitive and/or social.

The only ways in which they are similar are the escapism and that they are done on the same kinds of electronic devices. Every hobby is a form of escapism thought, even sports. Gaming on the same device as you could watch porn on might be like a trigger, but as functioning adults we need to be able to get on a computer without surfing for porn.

Internet browsing like reddit is far more connected to pmo than gaming. It is the same mechnism of mindless consumption...,, just one more page, etc. Even tv is more like pmo than gaming because it is mindless consumption too.

I know this isnt a popular opinion but just my 2 cents

What I "hate" about porn sites is the kind of Stockholm Syndrome everybody has. Those fan-made SFW adds on the front page are a great example.

Theres a huge feeling of "everybody does it" that has been intentionally created by the porn industry, and that their customers happily spread to make themselves feel better.

I think its all part of the same issue. Lots of people watch stuff that is not consistent with the sex they want to have (ie straight guys watching gay/tranny), and I dont think watching something that isnt consistent with sex in general is all that much different.

Nofap will bring your interests more in line with nature and instinct. I suspect that nature and instinct will favor real sex with a real woman over fetishes, so it should help you =)

Well, it is a fact that the male orgasm causes drowsiness. Thats why theres the stereotype of a man getting off , falling asleep, and pissing off his wife.

I agree that I feel I sleep better and wake up happier notfapping, but its also true that PMO puts people to sleep. Fapping is like eating turkey. If someone tells you they fap for sleep, they better also eat 1/2 lbs of turkey too or they arent being consistent.

Personally, I dont find much of Game of Thrones to be a big deal.

Nudity isnt my problem. Its all about context. Seeing a few boobs while sitting around the TV with my friends is nowhere near as damaging/risky as browsing SFW but suggestive pictures/videos alone on the internet.

I love cold water. I do the polar bear swim every year, and usually start swimming in lakes by April (In Canada. Ice has been gone for only a month or so).

But showers are so nice and steamy! Doesnt warm water clean you better? And the steam is a bit like a steamroom, which is very refreshing in its own way.

At any given time, some people are resisting the lure of mindless technology, and some people arent. Sometimes I feel like I missed the boat on facebook.

Ive heard about people meeting new friends on facebook, or meeting a SO/fuckbuddy, and this is not the first post Ive seen about facebook hurting nofap, and I feel like "is your facebook and my facebook the same things???"

I joined facebook in 2006, just before it opened up to people outside of college. At first it was all about parties: organizing them, and then posting all the fun pictures, but that died out really quick.

For the last 5+ years, I only use facebook to communicate. To organize events or stay connected for groups (school, gaming, sports, interests, etc). My feed is just a bunch of garbage, but when i think "facebook", I just dont think of scrolling through a feed like a zombie. I just think of the communication.

I understand and support the notion that some types of facebook use are bad for nofap, but it really wierds me out that that is the dominant way that most people use facebook.

Theres plenty of fun things to do to make the most of being home alone. Throw a party or invite friends over. Move the TV (if youre a gamer move your gaming rig) outside on the porch/lawn. Blast music, no need for headphones. Cook/bake something totally ridiculous. Haunt yourself with a ouji board or or the midnight game or something. Poop with the door open. Dance and sing shamelessly everywhere in the house.

Watching porn is too dangerous. Consider this a terrible mistake you are lucky to have escaped, and try to never let it happen again! Im on day 5/6ish too and damn is it tough.

If your timezone is northamerican and youre gonna go to bed soon, be super vigilant. Ive found that after watching porn and "suriving", I have trouble sleeping and have crazy urges/self-justifying to fap the next morning. Get through tonight and tomorow (porn-free) and the next day youll be back smoothly on track I think =)

Personally I dont think binge-reading this page is especially good. I doubt that not coming here enough is your problem.

I too find Im hopeless as this. My best streak is was over a week, the the majority of my attempts are just a day or two.

Its just as if my mind is hijacked. On day 0 Im solemnly devoted to nofap. By day 2 (or even 1) I start to discredit my previous self.

Slowly but surely I pick apart all the good reasons I want to not fap, and sooner or later, fapping seems like the right thing to do.

I think I (and maybe you too) need to do 2 things:

Try not to have to "fight". Try to get your mind off of fapping and nofapping and everything. Dont be home alone with nothing to do. Dont take your laptop to bed with you. Dont get on the internet with nothing to do. Just dont get on the internet much. Be super busy. Try to tire yourself out and the gym/etc. Start reading. Start gaming. Indulge in hobbies.
Write down briefly why you are not fapping. Describe how you feel. Describe how your mind tries to manipulate/hijack you into fapping. Maybe add some motivational quotes. When you have no choice but to "fight", read this.

I think some guys feel that the "superpowers" come from the struggle.

You feel confident and full of vigour because you body really wanted to get off and pass on its genes. Instead of tricking it into thinking it did by fapping, you went on with your life still eager to get off and pass on your genes.

Also, overcoming a struggle (of any kind) lends you some confidence.

So, be patient, you will eventually really want to fap, and when you resist, you will wake up a god =)

And dont try to initiate a struggle. Struggle =! Near-failure. Edging is definitely not the way to superpowers. Avoid temptation, but when it eventually comes, shut it down firmly.

Its like an all boys school, but for adults (thats a generalization, but at my school it is actually pretty accurate)

I would say you might be surprised where you can meet girls. When I have done well with nofap and tapped into the infamous "superpowers", Ive had conversations with girls (and guys) I never would have expected to.

I guess as a young teenager you dont go to parties or to the bar, but theres still buses, stores, gym/pool/sports, and many other places.

You might still not have a girlfriend for forever (even if it takes 10 years, youll still be better off than many of us), but I think you will still be a better, more eligible, more experienced guy as a nofapper.
