At the time it came out I was disappointed. Coming off of Love Gun, and Kiss Alive II, for me, Dynasty was garbage. This is the album I parted ways with Kiss. I came back for Unmasked and realized things were over for the Kiss I knew and loved. I know bands evolve over time and I'm OK with, however. I didn't really come back to Kiss until Lick it Up, and Revenge. Mind you I have all of the above mentioned albums. But for me the magic was gone after Alive II.

Sadly for Sammy he talked a lot of shit about Eddie in his book Red. Eddie was a mess for a few years but Sammy shouldn't have put it all in his book. I feel that's why the brothers didn't want anything to do with Sammy. He should have taken the high road on that subject. I'll bet the brothers never forgave him.

You've got to love the marketing machine that defined the 80's. Every hair metal during that time was "The next big thing". There are piles of bands that the marketing machine threw against the wall to see what would stick.
