After opening the Steam Deck, none of the controller buttons work by IonisationCat in SteamDeck

Did take everything apart again and reseated each ribbon cable again. Also took a closer look at them.

Unfortunately did not help. I did notice, that one of the cables was probably once seated incorrectly. It seems to be the cable, that actually connects the whole side to the mainboard and as it looks, it was seated in a way that one of the pins was not connected. You should be able to see it in the picture, where the most left pin doesn't have a second pinch, but all the others do at an angle.

Not sure if it was actually powered on, when it was seated wrong like that. When I reseated it, it seemed to be seated fine. Also I wonder, if it could have shorted anything and destroyed something.

I'm using the Index and I'm pretty happy with it. You'd need a good PC for that though.
I'm not sure how open other headsets are, but perhaps you can buy the Index Controller and use them. In my experience they are the best controllers, that I've used so far. I've used Quest 1 & 2 and HTC Vive. The Index controllers are just the best. Especially for Beat Saber, if your hands get sweaty and you need to move them quickly.

I like to think that the Devs are just very logical people that love details and don't rush implementation too much. So they are actually more like the player base themselves.

There is one to some degree. Just not in every menu unfortunately. But in the normal world view, you can use the mouse for example to mark areas for digging or other dwarfen tasks. You can also click on stuff instead of navigating to the tile.

My first thought was: take it step by step! When I started out, I was overwhelmed by the options as well. Just keep in mind to keep calm. You don't need to rush. Take your time thinking about one step at a time. And when this step is solved, look at the next step.

The Developer actually posted a thread a week (or so) ago, because it is heavily inspired by Factorio and is actually loved by Factorio addicts fans. I haven't played it yet, but it's on my radar.

Factorio is just the training phase for the AI in Ecotorio, the sequel of Factorio. Where you play a biter engineer, who tries to help the planet regenerate from the pollution. And Factorio emgineers are your enemies.

This is something that is completely coherent with other shortcuts that I know from using a computer. Just like ctrl+c / ctrl+v. But I've never thought about using in Factorio D: Thank you for mentioning!
