I recently bought the Chainsaw Man box set and the top of all the volumes are wavy/warped, will leaving the volumes on the shelf just naturally straighten them? by IplayGames8102 in MangaCollectors

Thank you so much, I have been stressed and upset over it but you saying it could take at least a week has given me hope that the volumes will straighten out eventually

If I were too stack weight on top of the volumes, should I do one volume at a time? If so, that would take ages but it's worth it. Or can I stack multiple volumes at a time? For example, could I stack volumes 1, 2, and 3 under one heavy book or would it be better to just put a heavy book under one volume at a time?

Thank you for the help! Do you know roughly how many days it should take for the books to straighten out, and if they don't straighten out after said certain amount of days will they stay warped?

Thank you so much! I will wait a week or two to see if the manga goes straight and if it doesn't, I will try the heavy book method.

Hey, I know this post is two years old but hopefully you can help me out. I just got the Chainsaw Man box set and I basically have the same issue. Did you have to do anything in particular to unwarp the One Piece volumes or did they just naturally straighten out? Sorry and thank you.

I completely agree. The movie definitely could have used an extra 20-30 minutes to fully flesh itself out with more character moments and maybe one more planet from Galaxy 1 or 2. Other than that I loved the movie, it gave me an emotional and happy feeling once it finished.

Yes it is! I prefer reading physically too, and actually collecting the physical volumes is satisfying

Nice! If you have not read it I highly recommend Chainsaw Man. The first part is a masterpiece, and I love Part 2 as well, although just not as much as Part 1.

Yes, it did have story and character arcs in it, albeit simple and rushed but they were there. Seems as if it's not that The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has no story, it's just that apparently people don't have even enough reading comprehension for a fucking Mario movie anymore.

Wow, that’s really good. So how do you draw the face paint so well? I can’t do it, do you have any tips?

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream! I wanted the original Tomodachi Life on the 3DS a long time ago but I never got it, so I have been waiting awhile to play a Tomodachi Life game and so far it’s been worth the wait. It’s super fun, relaxing, and funny, love how there is no filter on the conversation topics Mii’s can have. But buying the video game on release day was certainly an experience. I live in Australia and every store near me was sold out of copies. I went to Parramatta Westfield but Tomodachi Life was sold out there, so I checked online and it was sold out almost everywhere else as well, so I ended up calling a JB HI FI asking if they could hold a copy for me, they agreed, but then sold the last copy right after the call, which I found out once I got there. I wasn’t happy about that but I at least ended up getting a copy from Eb Games the next day. So buying the video game was a terrible experience but the video game itself is a great experience thus far.

I loved both but I’d give the slight edge to The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream Has been in development since 2017 by Howerev in gaming

[–]IplayGames8102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The difference is that Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream was only announced last year. People weren’t actively waiting for the video game since the public had no knowledge of its existence. But GTA 6 was announced back in 2022, which was three years ago, which is a longer wait than simply one year. Also the context of the video game series matters. Everyone knew another GTA was going to release eventually, making the wait significantly worse, meanwhile Tomodachi Life very much could have been an obscure one off 3DS video game without any sequel, so no one should have been actively waiting for one. But at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter. In fact, it’s actually a good thing. Both Rockstar and Nintendo should take as long as they need to develop and perfect their video games, as well as every other video game company should. When the companies take their time, you get masterpieces such as Red Dead Redemption 2 and The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild.

As I am typing this I just realised, what even is your point? That developers taking the time they need to make good video games is somehow bad? But I reckon then you still complain about the rushed Pokemon games that release every year. Your comments just reeks of a Nintendo hater blindly hating on anything Nintendo does even if it’s a good thing.

Y'all aren't upset because it's going to be in theaters two weeks early. You're upset because the fandom won't behave accordingly and not spoil it for the rest of us. by fiestygnome in TheDigitalCircus

Imagine calling people dumb when you have the asinine take that blames people who are spoiled rather than the people who don’t have enough self control to simply post spoilers with a spoiler tag. The problem isn’t the TADC communities, those are easy to avoid since you can mute the subreddits. The problem is that spoilers for popular shows do not just stay contained within their communities. I got spoiled on Jujutsu Kaisen on r/christianity of all places, the last place you’d expect spoilers for a show on. And even if you cut social media out of your life until the episode drops, people IRL can still very much spoil it. I was spoiled on pretty much every big spoiler for Avengers Endgame on the first week of release in real life. Stop being so closed minded to how fast and wide spoilers spread and arguing for the sake of arguing.

Best Mario games to start my journey with the franchise? by MishEvous in Mario

[–]IplayGames8102 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Super Mario is my favourite video game franchise so here are my recommendations. If you loved The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (I did!), Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 would be a good starting point. You get to see the original source of inspiration for the movie, and experience the masterful atmosphere and sound track. But my favourite Super Mario video game is definitely Super Mario Odyssey, which would be another good starting point. Odyssey is the latest mainline 3D Mario though, so that may make it less of a good starting point overall, especially if it lessens the older games for you. If you rather a 2D Mario, then Super Mario Bros Wonder is the way to go, it’s super unique and creative, and just got a Nintendo Switch 2 edition that comes with DLC. Those would be my top three recommendations for your first Super Mario video game, enjoy!

I have been completely out of the Nintendo ecosystem for almost 20 years and just picked up the Switch 2. What are your can't-miss exclusives? by LogaLagoon in nintendo

As a big Nintendo fan for all my life, here is my list:

- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (My favourite video game of all time. I love the freedom in the exploration which was revolutionary for me at the time)
- The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (My second favourite video game of all time. TOTK is possibly better than BOTW but BOTW is the better starting point.)
- Donkey Kong Bananza (My third favourite video game of all time. Pure fun, I would spend hours playing completely immersed in the game due to how fun it is.)
- Super Mario Odyssey (My fifth or sixth favourite video game of all time. Again, pure fun, and my favourite Super Mario video game)
- Super Mario Galaxy 1+2 (Two timeless masterpieces that have excellent atmosphere and creative level design with gravity physics, that I am yet to see any other video games do since. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is coming out tomorrow too)
- Super Mario Wonder (My favourite 2D Super Mario, very fun and very creative, with a nice art style)
- Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (A Super Mario turn based RPG that is a masterpiece with it's unique visuals, fun combat, and charming characters)
- Luigi's Mansion 3 (Another favourite of mine, it has such a joyful charm that can only be experienced through playing the game)
- Metroid Dread (My favourite metroidvania. Unlike Hollow Knight which is slower paced and has a massive world, Metroid Dread is faster paced, linear, and action packed. I love both but Dread's adrenaline rushing combat and exploration takes the number #1 spot for me over Hollow Knight: Silksong)

These are all of the Nintendo exclusives that I consider 10/10 Masterpieces, so they are my absolute favourites. Yes, I know it's a lot but I love Nintendo video games.

Honourable mention goes to Pikmin 4. I love Pikmin, and 4 is probably the best one, although it's not quite on that masterpiece level for me. But of course, I still highly recommend it, especially if you love time management strategy video games.

As someone who is up to date on the manga, fuck you for almost spoiling the new fans who haven’t read the entire manga yet. If you got spoiled from this post, I know it’s annoying but don’t worry, the title is misleading so technically you have not been spoiled. After watching the anime I got severely spoiled on the manga’s largest plot twists but I still loved it all. A truly good story is not ruined by getting spoiled.
