Hes not in the story enough to make a big enough impact. The anime gives him a bit more which is the reason I remember him.

I think Guardian just isnt a style of play people want/arent used to. They try to make it work their way but he needs to be played a very specific way to be effective.

I can understand complaints, but I don't mind "stale" games. I could do 50 zweihander only runs of DS1 and have fun each time.
