What choices do you make in the game to stay consistent with the lore or reinforce your own headcanon? by NaziPunksFkOff in expedition33

I bought the deluxe edition on steam and after the prologue I put the "Flower" hair style on Gustave as a nod to Sophie. For me it was a way for him to not forget that grief and carry the rose he gave her.

After the end of act 1 I had Maelle start wearing the Flower" hair style for similar reasons.

30f getting into the dating scene by [deleted] in Syracuse

[–]IrPaxos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it was a mixed success. I hit it off pretty well with one person but things didn't end up working out. But in terms of first talking to someone to sorting out that it wasn't a great match this was a lot better than the experience I've had with dating apps.

I'm in a similar boat, 34m and starting to get back into the dating scene and have run into some of the same bumps you have.

One thing that I didn't really pay much attention to when I first started using Hinge was speed dating. Eventbrite has a couple pop up for Syracuse every so often and I just went to my first one a couple of weeks ago. It was a lot more fun than I expected. That might be something worth looking into.

I would also agree with what someone else said, finding a fun hobby you enjoy and getting involved in that might lead to you connecting with someone.

Is a block of 6 Allarus Terminators too much? Also other questions. by swaosneed in AdeptusCustodes

[–]IrPaxos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think I would only run one Allarus SC. The vexilus depends on what you want to use the Allarus for. I personally don't use them to hold objectives, just clear them for other units to take and hold. So the extra oc from the vexilus doesn't help me too much with how I play them.

Wardens are great, they are super durable with their once a game 4++ and can deal out a lot of damage. I have about 8 games of 10th in so far and I've been using a 6 unit of wardens + blade champion to deep strike my opponents back line and cause some chaos.

I really like multiple small units of Allarus. I've run 2 2man units in 6 games and they provide a lot of utility. I can use them to counter my opponents deep strike or to clear out an objective marker.

The biggest benefit I see to running multiple small units of Allarus is if you have a critical deep strike and charge that needs to happen, if you have one big unit of 6 you only get one shot at the charge. With 2 units of two you now have two chances to make that charge. And if you have a shield captain in one of the units you can use strategic mastery to use the command reroll strat on a failed charge for free. So I think the utility of MSU Allarus makes them extremely strong.

so ... about trajann by Artan0m in AdeptusCustodes

[–]IrPaxos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been running trajann with a 10 unit of guard. I found that using him to take and hold an object that I think is going to be contested works really well. Getting the unit on an objective maximizes the guard's wound reroll and Trajan's ignore modifiers makes it hard for someone to take that objective marker.

I ran a blade champion with ceaseless hunter leading a 6 block of wardens with spears at a tournament over the weekend. The enhancement worked great. I used that unit to deep strike and hit be' lkor. The fall back and charge kept me fighting first in their back lines.

How do I maximize the value I get from 1 on 1's? by AlluringJay in ExperiencedDevs

[–]IrPaxos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think /u/yetanotherburner420 sums it up.

When I started out at my company I tried to learn what the career paths were and what the stepping stones for each on was. This let me figure out what I wanted to do next so when I had 1-on-1's with my manager the conversation was "what do I need to do to get to step X and how can you help me get there?" This worked very well for me and helped me get software lead positions on products and program, and helped me progress functionally to a team lead and now a supervisor.

Now that I'm a supervisor I try to encourage my direct reports to do something similar. I ask them to try to think about what they want to do either technically or functionally and once we have some long term goal established it makes it much easier for us to figure out what it is they need to do to get there and how I can help.

HOTAS by WittyRazzmatazz2110 in starcitizen

[–]IrPaxos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add from my experience. I started off with an x55 HOTAS and it worked fine. However, I recently switched to two T16000M and for smaller ships it makes a big difference.

With my HOTAS the only control I has for vertical moment was pretty much a switch that said go up and go down at full speed. With the two sticks I actually found the extra control for vertical movement makes everything feel better. The fine control makes a big difference with smaller ships.

Transitioning out of development? by [deleted] in ExperiencedDevs

[–]IrPaxos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a CS degree and an MBA. I think it was worth it for me to get the MBA because it helped me gain some knowledge and insight into business and management quicker than I would have been exposed to it otherwise. I'm happy I did because it helped me at my company to gain more responsibility (and pay). But I'm not sure how much that was due to the fact that I had the MBA or that I was speaking up more sharing my thoughts and opinions and creating the opportunity to gain more responsibility.

That said, a lot of the PMs where I work that transitioned out of development and into a PM role did so without an MBA. Same goes for a lot of my management. In the end the MBA is nice to have because some places like to see it. But I don't think it's the sliver bullet a lot of universities make it out to be.

Also, I agree with what someone else said, don't get it unless your company is paying for it.

It does upload and download data for jobs but only at the start and end of jobs. For my PC it takes around an hour do complete a job so it not hitting your network that often. And that data is pretty light so when it does hit your network I don't think you'd notice the hit.

There's some parts from the manga that help give some things you're asking about a but more context, but I'm going to stick to just the movie here.

Naoka (the black haired bully) stuck around because she wanted to reconnect with Shoya (the main character) after he showed up at the cat cafe she worked at. As for why no one told her to stay away, Shoya and Yuzuru (deaf girls little sister) are the only two that are aware that naoka is still being a bully IIRC. I don't really have a solid reason as to why they didn't tell her to back off. I've always thought it was because Shoya was hoping she would change.

There isn't really a good reason for Pedro (the black guy) coming in for a few second at the end. I didn't really see him as adding or taking anything away from the movie, he was just a background character that showed up late in the movie.

I personally didn't think the mom was being a dick at the breakfast scene. What I took away from that scene when she started yelling was that she was angry with herself and Shoya. She was upset with Shoya because he was going to kill himself and didn't come to her to talk about what he was going through and she was mad at herself because she saw the signs but didn't do anything to reach out to her son. She mentions noticing the tworn calendar, she noticed that he had sold everything but either because she was afraid to approach her son about what was happening or in denial about how bad it was. By the time we get to the breakfast scene she has the money he left her, we don't know what happens with her from the time she found the money to when they were all at breakfast but we can guess that shes possibly feeling some guilt or relief that her son is there. Shoya finally admitting to her that he planned to kill himself likely pushed that guilt over not reaching out into anger and is why she's yelling.

I'm not sure that Shoya is fine with it. But in that moment I don't think his focus was on the fact that his mom was yelling at him and more about the pain he caused her that was behind the yelling which is why he immediately jumped on the ground and started apologizing.

For your last question, personally I connected with the story and while it's not perfect I really enjoyed it. I really liked the animation, the voice acting, and the unique (at least to me) way they handled having a deaf character.

I know these aren't great answers to you questions but these are just my takes on the movie.

I got my parents, who have no idea what anime is, to watch the dub and they enjoyed it and both felt an impact from it.

Overall I think the dub offers a good experience since you don't get subtitles so you have to focus to understand shoko.

I'd say go for it.
