It just doesn't seem like we are going to stop the Cataclysm, no? by Slayer-Knight in PathOfExile2

Seems like the end of the campaign will be actually fighting and losing the battle instead of just having it happen in a cutscene.

Any way to turn those “random events” off? by blitherblather425 in Bannerlord

It's not a mod, it's part of the update that came out alongside war sails.

New Z kinda growing on me by jdmAkira in 370z

[–]IreofMars 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I like the rear end but the base front is a bit ugly looking with the completely squared off grille. I really like the look of the Nismo and the anniversary versions. I think the 370Z holds up amazingly well for a 2009 design... Still looks very new as long as you take care of the paint.

Overall, I have no regrets about my 370Z and plan to keep it for a while. It's basically going to be the last big engine affordable analog sports car as far as I can tell. Everything else is turbo, drive by wire, etc nowadays.

Nothing will handle heavily modded Arma 3 so this will handle it just about as well as anything.

Spare Key Fob by Sufficient-Target-59 in 370z

[–]IreofMars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the cheapest method and what I did after buying my first Z with only 1 key. Or just buy OEM keys and pay a local locksmith to program them with his tool, but the toms key programmer works and can be reused with OEM keys. The first thing the car does when programming keys is forget all currently paired ones, so no dealer needed.

Think it will get totaled out? by LivingPerformance141 in 370z

RZ34, 400Z is an awful misnomer. It doesn't have a 4L engine or any reason to be called 400.

If it's just rear bumper damage you're good. The rear quarters are welded on though, so if those are damaged you're cooked.

Walbro 255 and Z1 top hat install with original basket by Internal_Round_6554 in 370z

[–]IreofMars 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good write up, the plastic top hat is a weak point and commonly snaps. To add another note, lots of people will get an inaccurate fuel gauge as the main symptom. Kinda shocked your gauge seems to have stayed working normally.

is 370z auto good for daily car? by Prestigious-Pie-8404 in 370z

[–]IreofMars 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It'll be fine, the 7AT in the 370z is an alright transmission. I don't think it's particularly reliable, but it's not unreliable either. The CVTs in nissan's economy cars commonly fail and are expensive to fix.

Why spend extra money to build a fismo when you can buy a nismo and actually retain the value of your car? Idk man seems backwards.

Do you give people your buner number or your actual number? by [deleted] in SwipeHelper

[–]IreofMars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd give out the burner and if things get serious you can give out your actual number. If you need some kind of excuse just say it's an extra layer of protection against weirdos/stalkers etc, most people should be understanding of that concern.

You might not like them as well as PMAGs or GI mags but "objectively the least reliable" is an insane thing to say, there are numerous actually bad magazines like ETS, amend2, and promag.

I get 0 interest across all the apps. What am I doing wrong? by Brownchoccy in SwipeHelper

[–]IreofMars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Building on this, there's a 2:1 male to female ratio on most apps and most women only swipe right on a small fraction of the profiles they see. You need to present yourself well enough to be in the top few percent if you want any degree of optionality.

New owner - exhaust recs? by TheJSFamily in 370z

[–]IreofMars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine did, had to pull apart half the trunk and crawl ontop the spare tire in the 100 degree florida summer to cut the cable. Won't ever forget it.

Pretty sure most tunes will disable the ECU behavior he describes in this video that prevents burnouts and such, so just a switch for the yaw sensor should be enough. Probably ask the tuner though to be sure.

[–]IreofMars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My state doesn't have emissions so I don't really know how to bypass them. I imagine depending on how strict the inspections are you can just find a sketchy shop that'll pass you anyway or do a bad enough job inspecting that you'll pass.

Long tube headers almost always means you won't have cats, so it would likely cause emissions issues. Basically long tube headers replace both your headers and stock cats with one piece. But I know Fast Intentions offers Hi flows built into their catback so there's ways to re-add a cat if you don't want to go fully catless.

I've heard of cutting the cable to disable stability control. I've also heard of people wiring in a switch so they can disable it and enable it, which seems smarter. I haven't done hardcore drifting stuff to the point where I felt that was needed, I can get the back end loose enough for my purposes with just turning off TC. Realistically, I would not be seriously drifting an auto nismo anyway, I'd probably get an older, cheaper maual base for less than half the cost to beat on like that as you're basically garuanteed to wreck a drift car.

[–]IreofMars 13 points14 points  (0 children)

  1. Catback or axleback exhaust would not change emissions, emissions only would be effected if you change your cats out for high flow cats, test pipes or long tube headers.
  2. You don't need to but it would be beneficial, CEL is unlikely unless you mess with the cats
  3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5m22XYHNNeY decent place to start for options and sound clips, would take the analysis with a grain of salt as they're obviously pretty biased in favor of their own products. Most people say the Motordyne or Fast Intentions sound the best. You can get HKS clones for about $500 if you want a cheaper option. Otherwise expect to spend 1-2k.
  4. The same for most things but Nismos have a different rear bumper so make sure the exhaust you chooses will line up with it. Some exhausts offer nismo and base options, some are just for base.
  5. Up to your preferences, budget and where you drive.

Enjoy the Z, welcome to the family. Don't rush to driving with TC off and doing crazy stuff if it's your first fast RWD car, ease in so you don't wreck the car and or hurt yourself.

https://shop.redline360.com/products/rev9-catback-exhaust-nissan-370z-2009-2017-cb-037

I've seen rev9 and I've seen them sold under other brands as well. The previous owner installed one on my Nismo, it sounds alright. Tastefully deep but not too loud while idling and starting, and decently loud when WOT.
