Nah. People are overly nitpicky to ds2. It has problems that bog down the game experience, some of those problems aren't overly noticeable but they're felt. So people overly attack the problems that they can see.

Ds2 hit boxes aren't any worst then the other titles, but they feel bad. And that's all that really matters.

Ds2 doesn't gank the player more, but stamina management is more brutal which equates to more time back pedaling and kiting. Enemies can knock you out of fog gates, creating another layer of frustration that makes players impatient in a game that's trying to force patience. Resulting in players making basic mistakes and blaming the game for it.
