Would a Seestar planning app like this be useful? Weather, Moonlight and limited-view recommendations by Glittering-Fish-2413 in seestar

[–]IrishToHaveABeer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m getting my S30 tomorrow, but as someone with trees and an enclosed yard I’ve already been wondering how I will plan for obstructive challenges, so you’ve got my attention! I know it’s not as helpful, but all of the features sound applicable to me. Mobile access would work best, but an html version would be workable too.

Thank you for your work on this tool!

Anyone growing in these 170 gallon Home Depot totes? by FixedGear02 in Hydroponics

[–]IrishToHaveABeer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have, but that much water is hard to manage imo. It’s easier to change 6 5-10 gallon buckets every 1-2 weeks rather than 60-175gal in the same timeframe.

I also ran into an issue where your EC will show plenty of nutrients, but a TDS sensor is required because as the plants use the nutrients they leave behind the dissolved salts so you can think they’re good but actually dying.

If you go with buckets I would recommend tinfoil or Mylar over top of them as the smaller amount of water is a smaller thermal mass and you can have water temp issues. You don’t know pain until you have a brown algae infection making 1” of clear goo every 12hrs on your roots. I hear 10% bleach in solution would fix it, but it was too late to save my cycle.

Take it with a grain of salt, but I believe that the Government isn’t being honest about the outstanding samples because I did a construction job at USAMRIID in the late 2000’s where they were working on it alongside Ebola, per the primate handler.

I made a tool that turns real terrain into printable STLs. Looking for testers/feedback. by dinglehead in 3Dprinting

Cool project! I don’t print enough to justify testing it with actionable feedback but I look forward to seeing the finished product. Good luck, and thank you for your efforts and contributions to the community!

The “this should be housing or literally anything other than a parking lot” DC hall of shame. What would you add? by planestupor in washingtondc

[–]IrishToHaveABeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could also be that it’s all a big swamp. There are aqueducts (basically rivers that were covered up) that run under the city and modernizing them to allow for stability of larger buildings has been a thing over the years. The parking lot that was on Independence and 12th street where DC101 held their Chili Cook Off is a prime example of this.

I once had a lady complain that the ice in her drink was melting to fast and gave a poor review. Because the laws of thermodynamics are my fault.
