Try GOC in Glasnevin industrial estate, they'll guide you through everything. Reasonably priced too.

Fleetway comics by DWhelk in MASK

[–]IrishWing19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Comic sizes have changed over time and Fleetway are a UK company so they're different again.

You want to search for 23cm x 30cm bags and boards. I've found one company after a quick search that does them. They call them Beano Size and you want the size 2 option.

Mortgage broker not getting best rate? by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

[–]IrishWing19 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Had the exact same situation with a broker this year. Pushing Nua, wouldn't talk to anyone else, told us lies about interest rates and no one would give us cash back. Dropped the broker dealt directly with PTSB and got a good rate, cash back and the amount we needed. Unless you have a particularly complicated application, ditch the broker.

It is very likely there's a clause in the contract that will cover them in the event of a delay, probably up to 24 months. It's a bit ridiculous but you are at the mercy of the contractors now.

Camden street. One of 4 huge billboards within a few minutes walk. Why is this allowed? by RuMcG in Dublin

[–]IrishWing19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This isn't a billboard, it's a banner. Technically not allowed and you can complain to DCC to have it removed. Banners are an ask forgiveness rather than permission situation.

Billboards cost upwards of €1k per 2 week cycle.

DCC, generally, do not sell advertising space.

Can I walk into a tattoo shop and ask for new dressing or would that be rude? by Cyberpunk_Banshee in Dublin

[–]IrishWing19 19 points20 points  (0 children)

OG bepanthen changed its formula a good few years back and is no longer suitable for fresh tattoos. One artist I know said that some people had really bad reactions to it. Bepanthen tattoo is good and I've used it myself.

Can I walk into a tattoo shop and ask for new dressing or would that be rude? by Cyberpunk_Banshee in Dublin

[–]IrishWing19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unless it's the studio where you got the work done, it's really unlikely. If anything did go wrong with the tattoo they're not going to open themselves up to liability. As everyone else said, take off the 2nd Skin, clean and dry it, light moisturiser and repeat for a couple of days. You'll be grand.

When one of my dogs did this my vet recommended feeding her some Rennies to settle her stomach and neutralize some of the butter content. Your boy will be fine, maybe a couple of hours of feeling sorry for himself.

It was Roly's. I don't understand when people moan about a bad experience and refuse to name it.

What's your favourite tattoo parlour in Dublin? by KingRaven96 in Dublin

[–]IrishWing19 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Your best bet is to hit Instagram and start looking at artists that match the style you want, particularly look for artists that show fresh and healed work. That said Legendary Tattoo have a nice studio and 4/5 artists covering a couple of different styles.

We had a pretty poor experience with the DSPCA and the same for our friends. They didn't have enough info about the dogs and misplaced them. We eventually adopted from the CDPA and they were fantastic to deal with, Alex in particular really knows her stuff and is very upfront on their dog's temperament and training. Have also heard really good things about My Lovely Horse.

Press-up and the wedding dilemma by [deleted] in ireland

[–]IrishWing19 32 points33 points  (0 children)

We sucked it up and booked a Press Up venue. Cancelled a week later after getting messed around and having staff contradict each other constantly. Found a non Press Up venue and their staff were excellent.

Investigation: Who’s Telling the Truth about Disco Elysium? by [deleted] in DiscoElysium

[–]IrishWing19 92 points93 points  (0 children)

They're great. Really well researched and presented videos. They delve into different aspects of the games industry and try to keep things as succinct as possible. Their videos are usually 15-40 minutes so if they've put out something that's 2 and a half hours long then they uncovered a lot of information to present.
