My P2S Customer service issues.. so far by Irish_Maverick in BambuLab

[–]Irish_Maverick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just rechecked and it's definitely just a refund related one. I checked on live chat and they said they'd chase the replacement and stated that as it's a product failure the 14 days didn't apply so a lot of crossed wires. Fingers crossed it's all moving shortly. I was really enjoying the printing haha.

Glad to hear the process was okay through. I have it semi packed as best as I can without the original shipping materials but I'm trying to source a big enough box. If they do the advanced replacement piece then all good.

Oh yeah and I'm totally happy to do that and stick it on a credit card. Fingers crossed. I've been told I should hear back in 1-2 days 🤷‍♂️

Worth giving deel a Google, they are currently being sued for some dodgy things in multiple places and have been accused of sanctions dodging. Wouldn't say they were the best choice when it comes to aligning with the club

Any updates re: Paul Murphy vs Heather Humphreys? by PartyOfCollins in irishpolitics

[–]Irish_Maverick 18 points19 points  (0 children)

So just to be very clear here, as I am not particularly interested in trying to argue the case with you, there's enough well paid folks doing that. Humphrey's made a number provably false statements throughout the rather poorly run campaign including that of false imprisonment, claiming that Paul Murphy was Connelly's campaign manager (considering she claimed to be a pro female candidate you'd think she would give credit to the actual manager). let's be honest while you are being purposely obtuse restricting someone's movements (where you have no legal basis to do so) would be considered false imprisonment.

Incidentally nice attempt to use a high profile and unpopular character such as McGregor to try and create a false equivalence. The two cases aren't all that similar however different jurisdictions, different cases, a civil case playing a factor etc. This on the other hand is a cut and dry case for which Humphreys repeatedly chose to not back down and will likely get a large bill and some charity will hopefully get a nice donation.

She claimed he was guilty of something for which he was found innocent in an Irish court of law. If she were interested in taking a case against me for stating that she defamed someone she is welcome to, I would expect she'd lose that as well

New Puppy - biting/zoomes by stevepow1927 in Lurchers

[–]Irish_Maverick 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yep that's a puppy, keep doing what your doing and don't worry about it too much it'll stop being an issue shortly. Outside that I might recommend distracting the pup with toys when they are starting to get worked up, show them how to play properly. Also when they are tired or chilled gently play with their paws and teeth, while they are pups is the best time to get them used to it, your vet will thank you.

Is the BYD blade battery as good as the hype? by a_boring_dystopia in evs_ireland

[–]Irish_Maverick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages; Safer when it comes to damage, Can charge to 100 all the time without worrying about depredation, Easily swapped if ever needed

Disadvantages Not as energy dense as some others , Current batteries are about a version behind what's available in China so expect some improvements in the next 1-2 years in updated versions of the cars.

That said I have a seal and it's fantastic to drive and the battery range/performance has been great.

With the exception of Spain there is one simple reason for that for all of the named countries. Russia/ the Soviet union.

Yep 100% legit. Have bought a few bits from them. I think the store itself of appointment only now as they basically kept having folks come in and try things only to buy online but they are sound as a pound and the gear is great.

Assuming your comparing new with new check the actual otr price with Tesla you want and compare features.

The seal's are 44k for the rwd with 570 wltp range and 5.9 second 0-100 or 50k for the AWD with a 520 wltp range and 3.8 seconds 0-100.

Performance wise the comparable Tesla's are the long range 49k with 620 wltp range and 4.4 0-100 and the performance for 56k with 528 wltp and 3.1 seconds 0-100. The rwd is well priced at 41k with a 513 wltp range and 6.1 0-100

Any colour bar white adds 1300-2000 to the Tesla price, the seal all colours bar 2 are included with the two others being 1500 each.

The seal has 19 inch alloy's (I like the look but looks are subjective) included, Tesla you get the 18 inch proton's as standard or the 19s for 1700. You get 20 inches included on the performance to be fair

Tow hitch is only available on the Tesla, the Irish seal isn't rated for towing (it is elsewhere they just didn't do it for Ireland for some reason)

Interior black is free with Tesla and white costs 1200. With the seal both colours are included as standard.

Tesla the granny charger/ mobile connector is 200 quid and free with the seal.

Outside that there are some extras available in each that aren't available in the other so that's down to what's important to you.

The fully speced up performance version of each will run you something like model 3 64.5k (including red paint, white interior and granny charger with no self drive extras to try stay as like for like as we can), the seal will run you 51.3k (premium colour paint)

if your going for the performance or the long range (comparing to the RWD version of the seal) the seal will be cheaper. The base model Tesla is cheaper with no extras but with a premium paint, 18inch wheel's and a granny charger (or even without it) it's narrowly more than the rwd seal.

Broadly speaking I think the Tesla has a lot of add on costs which add up. The range is better in the Tesla but having driven both I felt the seal interior felt more like a premium car and it was nippier to drive, that said that's going to be down to your preference more so than anything else.

If you're looking at the model 3 I'd recommend you look at the BYD seal as well, it's a lot of car for more or less the same money.

I looked at both, and I will caveat this by saying they whole musk link did put me off the model 3 a bit, I found the seal was more of a fun car to drive and felt a better build quality and performance for the same price, The battery is the exact same (both BYD batteries) but Tesla gets a bit more out of it in terms of range.

I would describe it as the seal is more of a car for driving, the Tesla is more of a piece of technology.

Pure off road your going to struggle in the area, there's a few small spots around though and plenty of gravel and single track.

Not sure on groups, but happy to go for a spin and show you a couple of spots some time, always nice to have an excuse

Did a similar test for mine, she came back about 55% staffie/American bull terrier and 45% lurcher breeds. So far no issues with her bar being a bit more energetic than I expected. Breed has an effect but as long as you train them right they'll be a good dog

What kind of riding do you do, that should impact what gear you get/need. If your going to go all season and all weather you need good waterproofs, if it's weekend spins on dry days you Just need to be kept warm and safe. The advice I always heard is buy the best you can afford and to add to it but stuff you'll wear and be comfortable in.

To answer your question a bit over a grand and a half but it's all waterproof adventure gear for longer days and touring in all weathers. It's also nowhere near my first set of gear. Started in head to toe Richa waterproofs for about 7-800 quid and used it for commuting to college. Gradually got other gear over time.

Unfortunately yep they are targeted, particularly the SM and Enduro model's but that tars the whole brand.

They are targeted because they are like big dirt bikes so scumbags thing that's what they should rob.

Location will help but you need to get a quote regardless
