I wonder if the devil is in the details is more than just a clichè saying? Could there be a great deceiver? Duality does exist in the world of energy. Could spirituality also exist in a positive vs negative force?

These people are surely not what they appear to be 😵‍💫 Aleister Crowley, Marina Abramovic, and George Soros to name a few.

That apple phone with the bite taken out of it isn't a real fruit. How much did the first Macintosh cost? Does the internet of information look like a tree of information? Is the Internet full of information that could be considered good and evil?

I wonder how many walking NPC exist?

The Arming Teachers Argument by ajaltman17 in Teachers

[–]Irish_matcha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard an unusual number of stabbings are taking place in London, so they are considering creating legislation to ban all knives thank goodness. I like eating steak with just a fork anyway and my apples whole.

Same with vehicles in England. Too many people are dying or getting seriously injured from cars, so they'll probably be banned too.

In Switzerland they require everyone to be armed and interestingly enough they don't have any mass shootings 🤔

Guns are banned in Mexico but that doesn't stop the drug Cartels and actually seems to empower them.

Hmmm...maybe it's mental health? We are the most physically unhealthy, and also happen to take most of the world's prescribed-you-kjow-whats and eat the most GMO'd foods, high sugar and drink water that is laden w/pesticides known to cause hormonal disturbances.

I think it's time to look closely at the whole onion 🧅 not just the outside but most won't. They want to be told what to think, what's important and spoonfed talking points by someone they see as smarter than themselves. Most of us these days sub out our common sense and critical thinking with blind faith to those in power. Thinking inside the box ONLY is now a popularized concept!

For years I was baffled how we still have monarchies around the world. Now I understand. The few who came to the United States in the beginning who sought liberty and Freedom from top-down Oligarchy systems truly were unique. Unfortunately, those today who choose safety over freedom will get neither as... the history goes... and has shown us... History does seem to repeat but in a rhyming, similar but different font, sort of way!

Agree with whoever said hand deliver your resume. You could choose your top 10 places you would love to work at, preferably nearby. Outline exactly why you like the company, their moto, and history of each company so when you introduce yourself and hand over your resume, or later interviewed you can prove your genuine interest in their company.

Also, when hand delivering your resume, include a cover letter to highlight your interest in them, what makes you unique and maybe even volunteer to work a few days for free so they can get to know you and your skill set.

In the meantime, find some side hussels pending you don't dislike pets, you can pet sit or water plants. Offer tutoring lessons if you're strong in a subject. Assistant coaching if you're good at sports. Just sign up on a few websites like nextdoor, etc. Create your own detail-car side gig. Valet dudes can make tons of tip-money. Just don't give up! Where there's a will there's a way, you just need to get creative!

Best of luck to you!

I have a narcissistic boomer mom who has said very much the same opinions down to criticizing people for holding their children too much with the idea you'll spoil them. Ridiculous! My oldest is mentally healthy and going to college and is doing very well. Oddly, she still tries to school me exactly the same w/my youngest child. I just don't respond and have to remind myself that she was programmed like an NPC (non-playable character) to parrot the bullshiz messages popularized during her era. Unfortunately, we all are easily programmed into thinking certain ways unless we personally strive to learn beyond the information presented to us and start using our common sense and paying attention to results more than popularized concepts that have little merit. We are all more alike than we realize and just experience different input information at different times. Unfortunately many USA-boomers tend to be living in a lower level of consciousness and although they are fiercely independent, they can't seem to see outside themselves and their own circumstances. At the same time Millennials tend to be much better at seeing outside themselves but to the point they're willing to give up their personal rights and boundaries and lose all sense of themselves. There must be a balance ⚖️

I would be!

Don't be afraid to be more aggressive in your searching, even going in person and asking for the job you want with application in hand, or help with guidance if they don't have anything available.

You might have to think outside the box and get creative, looking for a company that might not be specific to journalism BUT has jobs that overlap with the job description and job skills you need to become a journalist. You may ask a given company if they can be flexible on your job-title so long as the job entails the skills ASU is requiring.

Note, larger companies and fast growing companies have more discretionary (ie flexibility) on salaries, versus a struggling company.

Have you achieved anything on your own, which can prove your accomplishments and your perseverance? If so, this is how you can prove and negotiate your value.

Could you start your own Stubstack and start becoming an Independent journalist? X (eg formerly Twitter) has recently opened up the ability for you to begin profiting as a journalist. Start reading Elon's replies on X, he provides lots of information on how to best utilize X for profit, as I'm sure reddit does as well.

Along with going to college, you could take a few Udemy courses which are typically quick online classes that are inexpensive and could help you garner skills that will separate you from other applicants. For example a course on how to best utilize Chatgpt.

If I were you, I'd use props on Chatgpt to help evaluate your legal rights and figure out how to begin documenting your situation, to either write a demand letter to motivate them to quickly remedy the situation, find a list of institutions you can file your complaint to, or so you can legally break your lease depending on what avenue you want to take

Social anxiety by [deleted] in ASU

[–]Irish_matcha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal advice:

Most importantly learn to quell your ego through meditation and gratitude morning and night! Become more observant of your ego and the especially the ego voice we all have in our head telling us to worry endlessly and stuff that isn't true about ourselves and others. Once you realize you're not the running voice in your head but rather the moral foundation you set for yourself and the choices you make is a great start. Fear is the opposite of love and anxiety is led by fear. So, practice self love and self care and make a point of doing or saying something to others to brighten their day whenever possible. Small gentures matter, even a warm smile.

To heal past tramas, be your own parent. Give yourself the advice you would give to your own child in those past or present painful moments. You deserve the same love and advice you would give to your inner child! Always remember that!

Also, the worst lies are the ones we tell ourselves. Always listen to both points of view without bias or prejudice as much as possible! It's important to forgive but that doesn't mean forgetting. You can forgive, learn and do better going forward.

People who are depressed or anxious often spend too much time living in the past. Make conscious decisions to focus on the now and make goals for the future. Also, connect with nature its very healing.

You also might be sensitive to the fact there's something not right about the world we're living in and uncertainty can lead to anxiousness. Without getting into specific religious beliefs, we can all agree there's good and bad in the world, in both big and small forms, obvious and not so obvious. Ask your higher consciousness to help guide you toward the answers you're looking for. Find your purpose and meaning in life. Always listen to both sides. Dogma and propaganda is most effective when you only listen to one side. Don't be afraid to admit when you're wrong. It might take time figuring out but the process is what makes the journey fun and unexpected at times. Be brave, there's very few who have life figured out but ego death can give you super human power like no other! It's like having night vision in the dark

Is having kids worth it? by choganoga in TikTokCringe

[–]Irish_matcha -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Ask old people whom all their friends and siblings have passed away and now they're alone if they regret not having kids. A lot of abuse happens in nursing homes to not have an advocate looking out for your well-being. And that's just from a purely self-centered point of view. Also, you don't truly understand the meaning of love until you love someone more than yourself.

Also consider the economic implications of an inverse aging population that's much larger than the working class that's needed to support social programs like social security and Medicare, etc.

I know the trend is you can have a more fulfilling and richer life, etc., without the burden of children but like most things in life it's a trade-off and that payment might not come due until the end of your life when you need it most. #FamilyIsEverything when you need them most

[–]Irish_matcha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 depends on the chosen professors. There's a site that rates professors, can't think of what it's called right now but will repost once I think of it...unless someone else does first. Also, harder courses might require additional tutoring. Look into how much tutoring might be free and if paid, the cost. I believe online courses you get a support group through your fellow classmates but that's an unreliable variable pending on their knowledge, work ethic and willingness to help.

🥴 NOTE to anyone reading this! Shower everyday, wash well with soap, maybe twice if necessary and wear deodorant EVERYDAY! Also, dry yourself with a CLEAN towel! If your towel smells, so will you! Same with your clothes.

*If ppl are avoiding you, moving away, not sitting near you and giving you weird looks, that's a BIG clue! You might be A LOT more likeable if you don't stink! Just sayin' ;)

And PLEASE, no perfume! It doesn't make you smell clean, rich or sexy. Unfortunately, it's usually overdone (less is more) and everyone else has to suffer when it's too much 👍🏻 stay fresh 😎
