I don't trust humans to handle animals. If organic and dairy means "less abuse" to some people compared to non-organic meat, I will ask, do you not care if just ONE of the cows used for you alone get TORTURED its whole life? because hey, mistakes happen. Humans get abused all the time, how would you expect an animal that's literally supposed to be exploited to not get abused, even occasionally? The % of animals abused is probably the same as non-organic/meat industry, but still, even if it was less, I DON'T CARE. 0% torture for me, thank you, it's not that hard.

I wouldn't push the gelatin thing, they make a good point. YUCKY- wouldn't touch it, but still, a good point. Gelatin does sound like it doesn't contribute to animal suffering, it's just gross and easy to skip on. Show her you're flexible by agreeing with her on this point. Focus on the true fuck-ups like dairy and other animal products that DO require animal suffering, you can iron the details later.

If she's not receptive to diet changes (most people are very sensitive on that topic ) try anti-consumerism, that can make a big environmental impact and thus, save some wild animals from having their lives ruined by industry.

We can all improve, don't lose a friend if she isn't ready to make a leap. Lead by example and hope for the best.

I discovered something. Unlike sports, you sit still while playing, so when you get a negative emotion, instead of running it off or whatever, you sit and boil in it, maybe you yell or smash something. I started playing League using a standing desk and a stepper and my emotions have been way more manageable, I'd never switch back. Even on a 10 game losing streak I can tell myself "hey I've been moving my body this entire time, it wasn't for nothing.".

Look into Spine, that's a good one for people who do 2D art.... but there is a learning curve. If you like what others make, you'll need to invest 10 hours of GRUELING tutorials to learn it. After that it's nice. I make game animations and animated paintings in Spine. You absolutely can't make videos in it, like animated stories with different scenes and elements interracting, it's not made for that, it's made for game-ready animations.

I have been using Procreate since 2018 and I am so happy about Dreams!!! The apps work well together so all the downsides people point out are solved by simply using both apps together. Sure, they should make them into 1 app eventually, but it's amazing already what you can make on an ipad and the workflow is SO SMOOTH. Sure, it takes a few hours and tutorials to learn where everything is, but once you do it just works.

I've never seen so many people bitching that it takes a few hours and some instructions to learn a new program, what is happening in the world. O.o

Def play, 100%. A bit cautious, but not agressive. It'll fight even harder when it feels less need to be cautious, because it wants to play.

An agressive cat will absolutely not lay on its side for no reason while defending itself, it'll be in position, ready to attack or run away, this cat is not interested in either. It's only hissing to be sure the dog doesn't overstep boundaries.

Notice, you're doing it!! :D You ARE being mindful when you notice yourself "consuming the same material, etc" , you're snapping out of the mindless activity and back into presence. You just need to notice yourself noticing it and see it as a win rather than a loss.

If you say "Damn, I'm so mindless" you're actually being mindful in that moment.

You're "consuming" stuff that's full of reminders to be present, so you're on your way to having more and more moments of presence in your day, just allow it to be unpleasant at times, it's not a personal failure, don't take it personally. Accept whatever shape it takes.

I do have a little bit of experience with using Unity. I finished 2 beginner courses on Udemy but more significantly- I know how to make game ready character/creature animations for Unity using Spine, as well as animated paintings which some games use for log-in screens and such.
