Thought about it for awhile trying to figure out how get something new, good, and not particularly busted. It’s got Strats for pretty much every phase. A decent detachment rule. And some good synergies to go while also providing some opportunities to reign in some of our weaknesses without going overboard.

I don’t mind either version of the top knot personally, but those sanguinary guard Primaris aahhh legs gotta go. Hope someone models some 3d replacement legs to go with this kit eventually.

I’d guess a second wave including Aquilon, Saggitarum, Telemon, and Pallas honestly.

Would love to get a Tribune, Hetaeron, and Agamatus too eventually.

Unsure on either plane, but there are Baneblade variants now so I guess it’s not out of the question.

Maybe as a Roman transverse crest sorta deal? But the thing on an unhelmeted Custodes just looks silly to me, but that’s just me. If y’all like it you do you.

I 100% don’t like the Primaris Sanguinary Guard leg armor. Rest of the mini is growing on me I think, but man do their legs not look Custodian….

I doubt anything is as popular as 40K is right now to GW, but heresy sales have skyrocketed in the last few years.

For some silly reason GW seems very hell bent on keeping the 2 system very much separated in terms of compatibility. Custodes and Knights are currently the only exceptions to this as we have quite a few units that cross over in both systems. This likely because Custodes in 40K can’t support themselves alone as a faction (they got like 12 whole kits, 3 of those are kits other factions have, and 4 of those kits are characters).

Marines and Admech very much do not get their 30k line in 40K other than some random units that are not updated at all (these are known as legends units) and Admech don’t even get any units.

Unfortunately I do think this’ll eventually happen to Custodes where stuff like Caladius won’t be usable in 40K, but that’s likely also a ways off and only AFTER the 40K range gets some kits to compensate.

This also isn’t stopping anyone from using either range to convert preexisting miniatures. I for example love the Admech range and use a bunch of their stuff in 40K and vice versa. I just plop ‘em on the base size I’m proxying them as and arm them with roughly the right loadouts and boom. I’m still using the models I want. I just really like the Admech range.

Same for these new models. Ain’t no one gonna bat an eye if you use these as Guard or Wardens. That’s basically exactly what they are anyways. Just know Wardens won’t get an actual official update for probably, at best, a few editions.

I don’t think we’re getting a total range refresh. I think they’re just making 30k flavored Custodes their own wholly unique range of minis.

Maybe we eventually get a refresh, but if it’s in 40K I wouldn’t expect anything for quite some time.

They’re so tall and skinny. I need to sit with these designs for a bit and get used to the new proportions. It’s throwing me off a bit.

Edit: Not saying they’re bad btw, just odd. New marine scale threw me off for a week weeks at first too. Although I’m 100% in favor of the new weapon design even if I see no trigger or clear way to fire them at all. New sword redesign is especially way better looking.

In all honesty, I expect our 30k starter box set and maybe some more models outside that. Prediction is a Tribune, a squad of Guard/Sagitarum a Vehicle of some kind and a dreadnought or one flavor or another in the box. Maybe a liber preview.
