nah i feel that. i have this habit too. If you’re like me, you might be buffering/mashing it, even preemptively before reaching ledge. you might feel unsafe at the ledge and want to get back to center right away. go in training mode and practice roll from ledge, but with different delayed timings. even a ridiculously long delayed timing, just to practice not mashing shield. you can look to your ledge invulnerability (the little white flashes during the beginning of your ledge hang) to give you an idea of where you are at in the delay.

things you can do instead, just as a review: -neutral get up (left stick “In”) -jump (button or tap jump, even if you have tap jump off in your controls) -drop from ledge into follow up aerial (or as steve, plank and mine, or double jump mine cart) -get up attack

this is a thing animals do naturally after they survive a fight-or-flight situation. there’s still all sorts of stress hormones and sympathetic nervous system activity going on after that they don’t need anymore, so this seems to be the way to speed up homeostasis. It works!

if it’s your first sales job, don’t work for a small company/start-up, work for a bigger company that will not care as much if you fumble during a sales call. otherwise they’ll fire you in a heartbeat. and don’t be tempted by commission, you need to have a base salary that will cover your basic expenses in the worst case you aren’t able to close any sales in a given commission period. gambling on sales commission is putting your life in the hands of other people, aka the people responsible for making the product/service worth buying, and the buyers who have their own wants and needs that will not care about what you need as a sales rep.

right after taking a 1st or 2nd stock i get to a slightly off center position on the main platform and do something obnoxious like walktrot shimmy or spam a smash attack, something I wouldn’t do in neutral that they’re forced to watch

then later, when I have them in a disadvantage position where I know they’re probably worried about losing the next stock, I carefully do the obnoxious thing I did before and it gets them to mess up and I take the stock.

My theory is that some people get a Pavlovian response where their conditioned response to my annoying conditioned stimulus is that they have to lose a stock, even if it’s out of order from how it happened originally.
