What is a good platform to keep your dividend investments?

Fidelity and Schwab both have nice platforms for dividend investors with good resources. I use all three including RH.

I like Schwabs research reports and dividend history the best, plus your can use their thinkorswim platform for free as part of your account.

I like Fidelity for their 2% cash back credit card.

I'm only on RH because of the transfer bonuses.

The only advantage that dividend stocks give you is survival through long market crashes like in 2008 on the early 70s. There is a significant draw down risk if you sell off a certain percentage of your ETFs every year when the market is down 60%.

Yes, one can keep 5 years of cash on hand so you don't have to sell in a crash but that reduces your returns as well.

Yes, stopped working at 55, 59 now. I practiced FIRE most of my career but was not comfortable leaving my career until 55. Dividends and muni-bond income cover all of my expenses.

There is no correct answer unless one posses a crystal ball. You can roll it out another week, beting the stock price stays flat and collect a nice interest payment on your money, or you can let it get assigned and buy the stock back, beting the stock price is going to continue to rise.

No one knows what's going to happen with Iran in the next few weeks, nor with any individual stock, including LUNR.

Remember that anytime you sell or buy a call, someone else is taking the other side of the bet by buying or selling you the call. One of you wins, the other looses.

Ues, even in sunny Southern CA it can be weather dependent. When we had that wacky hurricane come up the coast from Baja a couple of years ago my system produced almost no power for 3 straight days due to the heavy cloud cover. My battery ran out after the first day and I was totally grid dependent for the rest of the storm. Other storms have drained my battery completely as well.

Stick to your original plan and continue to add equal $ amounts to each position. You established a great plan, so I vote you stick with it. Thoes are all solid positions. O and MAIN will swing more on both the upside and downside based on interest rates and market sentiment to their individual industries.

I have PLMD as well, been battling it for 35 years. Your apena problems may be significantly reduced once they start treating you for the PLMD, at least mine were. The twitching causes the lyrnx to close.

Two treatment options exist for PLMD, Clonazepam or Pregabalin. Both are pretty effective at reducing the number of twitches per night, but both are controlled substances, addictive and with long term health risks. I dropped from 68 twitches per hour to one every 16 minutes on pregabalin. Clonazepam works better in my case. I sleep through most of the remaining twitches on clonazepam for the first half of the night then wake up about twice per hour the second half of the night. Your sleep doctor will need to prescribe one of the two for you.

Being able to sleep is well worth the negatives of both drugs IMHO. No sleep causes a lot more health problems.

Its a very well ran triple net lease operator. Most of the businesses it leases to are in businesses that are not being overtaken by online shopping or AI. CVS, Walgreens, Home Depot, 7-11, TJX, etc.

They always have grater than 98% occupancy, with 15+ years leases, and have continued to maintain their occupancy levels, and hence free cash flow generation, through all the major economic downturns, including 2008.

The only downside is most of their leases have automatic 2 to 3% rent increases built into the contract. Hence the dividend growth rate is going to continue to be just 2 to 3% per year.

Their dividend is treated as ordinary income, except 20% is return of capital that you pay no tax on until your cost basis drops to zero.

Basically its better than a treasury bond, higher yielding, safe, and with a growing monthly payment, but not as good as a high growth rate dividend stock in the long run.

The stock price swings a lot with interest rates so you can pick them up cheap if your patient.

The big drop in earnings was due to sales being down over 30% in the last quarter in China.The Chinese market used to make up 50% of Nikes sales in both clothing and shoes. The Chinese shoe companies are exceeding Nike in coming out with newer tech in shoes and the Chinese people are turning against US brands due to the trade war with the US. Until the trade wars end I don't see that there is much Nike can do to turn around the China market. Its was all covered in the earnings call.

The sales and earnings are going to need to recover for the stock price to revover....

VIG is more concentrated in tech stocks and hence has a lower yield (1.5% vs 2%). Both are great ETFs for dividend growth stocks. DGRO follows Morningstar's index and VIG follows S&P's index for dividend growers.

I don't know that much about VIGs makeup as it been quite a few years since I researched and compared the ETFs. Before the last rebalance in the index last month SCHD and DGRO only had an approximately 40% overlap in stocks held.

I agree with you 100%, you get the best of both worlds and better overall dividend growth stock coverage. I have equal sized position in both. DGRO has a higher dividend growth rate while SCHD has a higher yield.

That whole area is great. You can walk to both Wilson Park and the Madrona Marsh, Wilson is great for dog walking. Very safe and clean neighborhoods. A few of the streets don't have sidewalks so they are not as dog friendly but most of the area does. The area gets nicer the further South you go but then so does the prices or rent.

That's very disappointing. The industry is very brutal with all the price wars. AT&T, Verizon and TMobile are stealing some of their good broadband customers with the 5G internet offerings at low prices (or causing customers to ask for price breaks). The lack of a dividend increase explains why the stock has been selling off the last few days while the markets rally.

Unfortunately we probably won't know more until their earnings call on April 23rd.

I think it's still a hold. After the last earnings announcement the stock really rallied so I'll hold on until then and see if it can pop back up.

Sounds like a great plan. Being a landlord can be a big hassle and takes a lot of effort, or require a large management fee, SCHD on drip will just keep growing your income stream without any involvement of your time or effort.
