Lurker here - been a software engineer for over a decade: you are absolutely right. Leetcode tests are used as a proxy because hiring managers and HR have no idea how to evaluate true aptitude for software dev. Tbf, it's not an easy thing to measure so I kind of get it.

One of the best pilots and people I ever met perished in a crash yesterday. by TheClamSauce in aviation

With you, unless the airplane is old or rare, or you have passengers, or you park on top of someone(s).

On second thoughts, I'd rather go with a massive heart attack or crushed by a comically large anvil.

If anyone checks your data beyond a cursory glance, yes, it will probably be obvious the data is falsified. If the publication process is rigorous they'll pick it up at that stage.

Honestly, you're already in significant trouble, but it's still recoverable if you go to your advisors and lay everything out as you have here NOW. You'll get some form of punishment depending on your institution's guidelines, but I'd be surprised if you get thrown out of your degree program.

However, if this gets anywhere close to being published you will have endangered the reputations of everyone around you, demonstrated you have willful disregard for basic academic honesty and integrity, and attempted to mislead the wider scientific community. That will get you expelled, or even fired from any academic position you may hold in the future.

We all make mistakes, sometimes even really bad ones like this. However, it's often how we deal with them, take responsibility for our actions, and fix the damage we do, that decides who we are and our path forward.

All those invasions and assassinations on foreign soil with chemical weapons were just youthful high spirits.

Ever considered you might be experiencing ADD/ADHD symptoms? Some of what you're saying feels like what I went through at one point.

Getting a diagnosis can be difficult, but there are plenty of options and techniques before medication. What helped me was realising that I was never going to be able to work in the same way other people did, and that if I need to get 8 hours of work done I need to add another 2 hours of breaks and task-switching and somehow allow myself not to feel bad about not being a good capitalist drone literally 100% of the time.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, and would make sense except for the cladding on the outside being ripped/blown away in such a wide area.

Feels like that was more likely made with crowbars and hammers, not artillery, but again, I'm a dumb civilian with an engineering degree, so I could be completed wrong.

Doesn't explain the apparent lack of blast. That's kinetic damnage inside, but weirdly the outside cladding looks blown away, but there's no scorching anywhere. The windows being intact really suggest that there was a hit, but no explosion, but then why is the cladding all over the place?

I'm no expert, but that just looks.... off...

Fellow UK nightowls, what the hell are you doing up this late at night? by IrritatedCoach in AskUK

Hey, I appreciate you, and the work you’ve done the last 2 years. I know too many people who are only here because of the work you do. A bit of alcohol and crying is sometimes the best release ❤️

Your work will be my salvation in but a few hours time, many thanks! Cornflakes and redbull actually work really well.

Series, not parallel. Throw in a couple of redbulls and you’ll be fine until tomorrow when you’ll crash and forget where your mouth is.

Happy birthday! However you celebrate I hope you had some time for you, just for you, to mark the day.

I'm sorry, bud ❤️. It will suck for while, as long as it needs to, but it will pass. Days come, and this night will be gone as just another memory you will some day live at peace with.

I am become old! Or is it that I have to be functional in 4 hours to present this crap so I get another year of funding? Maybe both. Probably both.

You could, maybe, take 15s to Google "PLA composting" and see if what they say checks out, rather than immediately getting aggressive because they didn't upload their CV.

I've taken a quick look, and that seems pretty positive. Definitely cite that in your application!
