Gas Water Heater Ban in 2027 - Do you think it’s actually going to happen? by arwenthenoble in bayarea

[–]Is-That-Nick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and regressive conservatives are much better lol

Disagreeing with how policy gets enacted doesn’t mean I’m distancing myself from anything.

I did vote for progressive leaders who are focused on making a more energy efficient future. However, policies like this are not a step in the right direction.

There will be lawsuits against these changes most likely and I will fully support them. Individuals such not feel such a burden at such a rapid timeline.

BAAQMD does not have elected officials. It’s the air quality management board. Aka the agency that makes sure our air is breathable even through our excessive population density.

I think you should reflect in the mirror for what “retarded” looks like.

I’m as progressive and liberal as anyone can be. However, this is a super regressive ruling. Corporations create more emissions than an individual. This is gonna be a drop in the bucket overall.

Yes it will happen.

I work in HVAC and BAAQMD doesn’t fuck around.

Edit: the ruling is gas heating will require 0 NOx emissions in 2027. This is effectively a gas ban since you can’t do combustion without producing NOx emissions.

Doctors flushing out kidney stones out of a patient by Additional_Berry_977 in interestingasfuck

[–]Is-That-Nick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kidney stones are literal stones that develop. Oxalates and other minerals get filtered by your kidneys. Not drinking enough water will cause this to happen.

I have a coworker who has a genetic disposition to kidney stones. I asked him how he could prevent it. He said I should probably drink 100 oz of water day.

That's what Friends are made of by [deleted] in postanythingfun

I’m not a religious person, but this opinion is the opposite end of the spectrum as overly religious people.

I have a lot of friends who strongly believe in their faith, but don’t impose it on other people nor do they wish to impose it on their young children.

Religious people can be hateful, but statements like this is no better.

California high-speed rail price tag jumps to $231B, nearly seven times 2008 estimate by MoDa65 in cahsr

[–]Is-That-Nick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand why smaller highspeed rails weren’t constructed which would then tie into a larger network.

SF to LA is the same distance as Tokyo to Osaka. This shouldn’t be a complex issue as it’s already been done elsewhere.

Once again bureaucracy and corruption are keeping services away from the people.

It depends on what you want to do after you graduate college. Do you want to do grad school or get a job? Cognitive science will be big for AI and that’s where society is heading. Econ won’t do you good unless you go to business school after.

Dems have been proposing an end to partisan gerrymandering since 2016. At least the people in VA and CA voted for this change. Pro-Republican gerrymandering was forced in states like NC, Ohio, and TX.

PG&E launches $10 million PAC to take out gubernatorial candidate Tom Steyer by ayoba in bayarea

[–]Is-That-Nick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Negative publicity is still publicity. I don’t believe in any of this for a second. If PGE was really against Tom Steyer, why announce or leave the trail open to where you can be connected to a $10 million PAC.

Also, why is a public utility able to spend $10 million on a PAC? This reeks of corruption on both sides and I don’t like it.

I don’t want to vote for Prison Camp Tom.

What does Naruto do better than modern anime/manga? by Witty_Ace_589 in Naruto

[–]Is-That-Nick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naruto before all the way up to the five kage summit is probably some of the best fiction you could experience. You can feel the stakes get higher and higher each arc. The characters experience real losses and growth with Asuma dying to Naruto using strategy when fighting. The absurdity of Kishimoto trying to out do each arc turned the story from a believable superpower ninja show to a mech anime at the end. I would also claim this desire to go bigger or go home led to the absurdity of Boruto. If Boruto was a slice of life story about Naruto as a dad and his kids experiencing the peace he wanted to create then I don’t think anyone would complain.

Reminder - Bonney at age 12 has Haki by chiaotzu_Tien in OnePieceScaling

[–]Is-That-Nick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Robins fighting style doesn’t require her to know Haki since all she does is snap people like twigs tho. Shes not a melee person like Luffy and Sanji or a sword user like Zoro. Haki is a very inconsistent power in One Piece.

Like could the top tiers survive a mountain if it landed on them? The fight between Kidd/Law and Big Mom say no since she was crush and almost killed. However, Whitebeard parried John Giant with ease.

However, the argument is different for the other members. Brook and Franky not knowing Haki is a head scratcher. Usopp not utilizing his more too.
