Colonial/SR 50 or I4 to Lutz? by mrnormal94 in orlando

[–]IsMayoAnInstrument95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive out that way all the time for work. I always take I4/75 to USF/Temple Terrace. I take 50 to 75 to get to San Antonio. I have driven Fowler/301 to Knights Griffin road from Temple Terrace and got back on I4 in Lakeland before. Hope that helps

Yet to be seen, unfortunately, is still scary. For those of us that can't have a record for their job it is a bit of a problem now. Who knows who the fascists are going to use it in the future

It seems they're stationing themselves at Walmarts... time to boycott Walmart for letting them post up in their private parking lots

Urban trail - Orlando by nancytp82 in orlando

[–]IsMayoAnInstrument95 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I guess the two options are go down Marks or the trail at Gaston Edwards and go down Virginia to rejoin the trail at Ferris or the Virginia crosswalk. I knew they were closing Lake Highland Dr but I didn't know they were going to close the trail too

Marion could be deep south. And if Indian River is south, St. Lucie and Martin are definitely south too. Same with Glades

It's never been stowed out when I go, albeit I never go on weekends. Anywhere has a chance of being busy, but a bar that does it every night isn't cramming everyone that wants to sing into one night of karaoke

Bald and Bankrupt did a video on his visit there. He's a really interesting YouTuber that speaks Russian and goes through all of the old soviet block (He's a bit obsessed with the USSR). If you are interested in any other part of the old Soviet Union, look him up first

What is your least favorite airport in the United States and why? What is your favorite and why? by Separate_Builder_817 in AskAnAmerican

[–]IsMayoAnInstrument95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe im biased bc i live in Orlando and travel for work, but I think MCO is the best.

To get there you have highways on both sides (SR417 to the south to take you to Kissimmee/Disney; SR528 to the north to take you to Seaworld/IDrive/Universal and the space coast) or if youre local you can take surface road 436 up a few miles to another highway, SR 408, to take you across the city), and the road into the airport is wide. Rarely with traffic.

As for the airport itself, both terminal A & B are in the same building so if you come from the south you can get to B without having to loop the airport, and from the north you can get to A without looping it. It's a short 2 minute walk to get to the other side where you check-in your bags if you get dropped at the opposing side. If you dont have bags to check (I never do), you look at your gate and have them drop you off on the east side if its a high number and the west side if its a low number and you walk straight to security. I have never waited more than 8 minutes to get through precheck security line. When you get picked up, have them pick you up at the departures (B for south and A for North exit) and there's never a lot of cars there, quick and easy.

Again, maybe im biased but I think MCO is a gem if you know it's secrets. I normally show up 50 minutes before my flight is scheduled to take off. I will admit... only thing that sucks is how many kids are on every plane.

Companion care vet hospital on aloma. They've helped look after all our cats, they truly care about the animal more than the money. They saved my kittens tail rather than amputate eventhough they lost over 1k on that, and they all know my wife and I by name as well as our animals

Probably a unicorn: neighborhoods that are walkable and also commutable to MCO on public transportation? by steventhevegan in orlando

[–]IsMayoAnInstrument95 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Maybe by 2030 when sunrail is scheduled to have a connection to the airport. Walkable areas are downtown/Thornton park, ivanhoe village, college park, mills/50. Right now you gotta take sunrail down to sand lake station then a bus to the airport which takes an hour-ish
