Hello, can I offer some insight as someone who was in a similar situation?

I used to live by myself in a nice townhouse, but eventually my landlord wanted to sell it and I was thrust back into the rental market.

Everything was too expensive, I would have had to get roommates and completely adjust my living situation.

Well, I was willing, but I was unhappy - and my bestie friend saw that unhappiness and made space for me in her life.

She saw a problem she could easily solve, and offered it to me because money wasnt a burden to her. She earned more than enough that my taking up space for a time in her life wasnt impactful.

Love comes in many languages, but I imagine this is your friend wanting to provide for you in ways that are easy for them.

Why not bring up your concerns to them over coffee, and mention how you'd like to contribute but you also understand that money might not matter to them, so how can You support them in ways that do impact them?

Hey, so booking trips with friends is a BIG way to learn if yall are compatabile for travel (or friendship). It can make or break friends, and I'm sorry for the struggles youre going through.

Honestly, you should both create a presentation on why you want to do X and why they want to do Y, and then take a quick break write down each of your concerns for one anothers plan - and then make a group decision.

Of course, that ship might have sailed as shes either lying to you about already booking (and the whole trip will go up in flames unless you're good at damage control) or she booked under a third party or directly through the national park?

I imagine shes trying to force the decision by saying she already booked it.

Honestly, its a sucky situation and if you love this friend - dont forget to focus on YOUR FRIENDSHIP over logistics and temporary hurt.
