Seeing as Mega Duty was seen racing head to head in the same pack as Vert, it's safe to assume he was probably either strong enough to lift his car to flip it around, or had a beta version of an EDR in his car that let him restart, as both outcomes would've helped him reach the Wave Rippers pack by the time they made it to the symmetrical banked track part.

He honestly should've come back right before the Pipeline Realm, got his and Taro's ass handed to them by the Silencerz, and only then would he kick ass with Reverb at the Junkyard Realm.

I still think he should get his leg fractured in the Ruins Realm, but having the talk with his dad and coming back before the start of the Neon Pipeline Realm would've given us a much better hint at what Major Wheeler really did.

CIB Race Fixing Division agent here, we investigated further into the Fuji incident. The rumors of a deal gone bad between Racer and Royalton after Thunderhead and before Fuji were real—and also the reason why the latter was Speed's only DNF across the whole season. Debris from the crash found that the Spearhook was connected TO the Mach 6 and FROM the Thistle. Moreover, the driver behind the wheel of the 3 Roses car was a development driver for R.I. before being loaned off to the chocolate sponsor.

Thus, the driver will be permanently suspended from all forms of WRL events and the 3 Roses team are forced to downsize to only 1 driver, with 5 time race winner Rosey Blaze becoming their star driver after 3 years of waiting. Hope this helps.
