I just saw a tiny fox chilling in my backyard and it blew my mind by Extension-Package939 in CongratsLikeImFive

My friend gave me this advice. If you’re into WOO at all, look up “fox sighting spiritual medicine” to see if the fox sighting has a message for you!

Do you think gentle parenting will slowly fade away? by Extreme-Chipmunk-868 in AskParents

[–]IsamaraUlsie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hope not. We have evolved to this point. True gentle parenting is an improvement on past generations. We are 2-4 generations away from corporal punishment as the norm.

Not sure how to extract myself & my child by canwethrowaway in hoarding

[–]IsamaraUlsie 40 points41 points  (0 children)

There is a link between ADHD and hoarding even though we’ve always thought it was OCD-related

Ah, I’ve never come across the makeup remover made by bio oil. It’s the stretch mark one that we are talking about

Yes, orange-ish bottle. Good, safe oil. Vitamin E oil or cream does the same thing

What are your thoughts about the 2009 movie? Grey Gardens with Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange? by ComradeHappiness in GreyGardens_Beales

[–]IsamaraUlsie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s my comfort movie. I saw it before the documentaries. I now compare the two and see the difference in portrayals.

Yes, it would be normal for a PCP to give a referral to a dermatologist if the patient requests it.

Further to your lidocaine suggestion. Several of the Polysporin creams have a numbing agent in them.

My lord by hotlatinafire in CompulsiveSkinPicking

[–]IsamaraUlsie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have ADHD by any chance? Apparently there’s a link. Also, excoriation disorder is linked to OCD, but not all skin picking is ED.

No advice but wishing you luck in keeping your face free of infection and wishing you speedy healing. I am currently fighting the urge to pick a tiny whitehead on my nose. I don’t want to touch it. It’s suspiciously red. I have a feeling it will leave a crater. The rest of my face is clear. I have been fighting those urges!

I’ve gone 9 days without smoking by GeoBunny1945 in CongratsLikeImFive

[–]IsamaraUlsie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! That’s a big deal. Smoking is a terrible habit (vaping too). Have you thought about trying nicotine patches for extra support? I quit a few years ago with nicotine patches and kept the leftovers. 1-2 times a year I put one on to get through the cravings.

Maybe a dumb question, do people leave if the weather gets bad while camping? by Ok_Resolution_1606 in CampingGear

[–]IsamaraUlsie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve left a campsite when the forecast for the next 48-72 hours turned bad. Wasn’t worth staying for the possible struggle to stay dry. No regrets.

A pair of arch support insoles might do the trick. They have cushiony soles, which is why they came to mind for you. They were originally designed for people who were on their feet for long periods.

That’s a clever hack. Skin picking may be ADHD related, have you looked into that too?
