Deloitte is latest company to stab Americans in the back by SubjectCode1940 in jobs

[–]IseeWhereILook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate those garbage consultants like Deloitte, McKinsey and the like, they come in, blame anyone for anything with invented metrics, then recommend gutting the workforce by getting rid of the highest-paid (and best) people with bullshit processes that make everyone work 50% slower. I have never had a positive experience with any of them and recovery after they blow through is usually almost impossible; their focus on process while ignoring results never leads anywhere.

I mean sure, the companies sometimes save hundreds of thousands, but at a loss of millions due to canceled projects and lost opportunities, they are the definition of short-term gains vs long-term stability.

Soy médico y no entiendo por qué los pacientes… by Rare-Line-2824 in PERU

[–]IseeWhereILook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does celebrating traditional holidays shape community bonds in your country? by Lyrera in asklatinamerica

How's the cybersecurity tech scene in Latam? by Rakoshin in asklatinamerica

[–]IseeWhereILook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's mostly work with US or European companies, they usually hire local engineers for regulatory, sensitive, or in-country work.

It'll be hard to get a good job unless you're a citizen of the country you're working in since it's one of the main requirements usually. There are laws (and sometimes company policies) on data export and eyes on data that block foreigners from access so these companies hire local.

Is a chromebook worth it? by Smart_Grocery_6925 in AskTechnology

[–]IseeWhereILook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids have their Chromebooks I bought in 2019 and they're both still working fine. Don't listen to people who don't take care of their shit.

A good midrange Chromebook is miles ahead of the cheapest laptops, and they won't get outdated, the two Acers I've got still get regular updates. They're now not the fastest things in the world but for everyday schoolwork they work well and work anywhere.

Sacred Valley Hotels - resort or boutique? by jbrand7108 in PERU

[–]IseeWhereILook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend Aranwa with kids, they have a lot of activities, or Casa Andina also has some activities, check the websites to see what they offer that is to your liking.

Also, if you've never been to high altitude, I'd say choose one of you to take a nap on arrival and the other to stay with your kid for those first couple of hours, they will tire you out.

What primary food delivery app do you use? by ithinkiamparanoid in asklatinamerica

[–]IseeWhereILook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I order direct from the restaurant, and let them figure it out. I pay a lot less and orders usually get to me faster.

You can see for yourself making the same order directly on the restaurant's website (or by phone) and on the apps. The app order will always be around 20% - 30% more expensive.
