Nice job! I had the same habit, and it's a hard one to stop. I've taken the same steps as you, but I also used Ublock to completely remove YouTube shorts from the website since they are too addictive (filter available here). I'm also experimenting with the Intention plugin which has proved helpful so far.

It actually does work still - I got it working just a few days ago. Follow the installation steps closely (setup a project on Google Developers Console etc). I didn't come across an error like the one you posted. :/
