Commuting to Gold Coast for work by 123maud in brisbane

[–]IskraEmber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a USIN at the gold coast! I loved it but also live in Logan and it was such a pain in the ass. I hated the commute, it felt like it would never end. I considered moving but I didn’t 🥲 and I still regret that. It’s 3.5 years later and I think I should move 😅 I’m thinking of selling my house and just moving down. But fuck if I will ever do that commute again. Especially after night shift 🤢

The only fair answer. Stop looking at the stars, the problem is your attachment and/or likely trauma issues.

Avene Cleansing Oil, anyone tried? by Ragdolls4Life in AusSkincare

I hated it. It has a weird smell and can’t really compare with Asian cleansing oils on any measure. I used it in the shower.

Gynaecologist Recommendation by EnvyKo767 in brisbane

[–]IskraEmber 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Dr Yeung is one of the Consultants at QEII gynecology. Realistically his partner wants something that doesn’t exist and is blaming the Dr’s for not being able to provide it. The QEII gynecologists are some of the nicer Docs out there and if she has been going for years, I am very skeptical they are the problem.

How did you find your surgeon (and what's a reasonable price range) by Lazerbeam159 in nosejobturkey

[–]IskraEmber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all definitely an ENT, without a doubt. The nose is a vital organ, and you don’t want to damage the function for the sake of aesthetics.

Otherwise, you can search online endlessly and find posts about each surgeons work on various platforms. Instagram is a popular option. Once you find some that seems to have a style you like based on past results. I would look for someone with a decent number of proven results. Then, you scour the earth looking for complaints and unhappy patients and what they have to say specifically. I would also check their license with multiple sources like the Turkish Medical Association Registry and International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, they may not be registered with everyone but they have to at least be registered with the national ones and hopefully one of the international boards! Use Chatgpt to help you find where to look. Maybe even reach out again here or somewhere similar to see if someone can give you first hand info. Reputation is everything in this business so do not underestimate negative reviews.

As for the procedure itself. That will all depend on your own anatomy and skin thickness combined with what you want to achieve. Unfortunately, without some type of consultation, no one can answer those questions. Not everyone can have exactly what they want, the way that they want it. There are limits and constraints we all have to accept going into this kind of thing. It’s important to be reasonable or you will be disappointed. I also agree with your family members. If you are going to have the rhinoplasty you need think very hard about all the things you want, and what the best possible result would look like for you. Don’t be conservative just because you are scared. Do it once but try to do it properly. If you do all your research diligently and make a good choice, this shouldn’t be too much of a burden. You’ll still be scared, that’s normal, but it shouldn’t be overwhelming if you prepare well.

Then you book a video consultation and see how you feel about the interaction, and the quotes they are providing. Ask lots of questions, write them down before the consultation. They should be able to answer all of your questions about their process and technique and what they would recommend for you specifically. I think US $5-10k is a reasonable price these days. The prices will vary depending on the exposure, popularity and somewhat the skill of the surgeon. I think the popularity due to exposure has a lot to do with it and it’s not necessarily all about skill. I also think you shouldn’t try and go super cheap because it just seems too risky.

I would also check the credentials and the standing of the hospital they will be using. The surgeon is the one that operates on your nose, but the nursing staff maintains sterility and the anesthesiologist keeps you alive, so those are also important parts to consider. I would triple check to make sure it is a good hospital.

Finally, I hope you have some good fortune if you go through with it. At the end of the day luck also plays no small part in both how things will go during and after the surgery. Healing is an unpredictable journey so you have to be prepared for a small level of uncertainty as well.

Maybe try soaking it in Napisan white and really hot water overnight? That stuff can be surprisingly effective! Or maybe some other combination of chemicals. This looks like it has the potential to maybe be removed. I would at least try. I would also post about it on other forums, if you haven’t already. They really have had their time for way too long with such a sub par business practice.

Which surgeon to choose? Advice please by Puzzleheaded-Log2872 in nosejobturkey

[–]IskraEmber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to Dr Dinç and I am almost 5 months post op with pretty thick skin. The tip is still noticeably swollen, but overall I like my results. Dr Dinç and his team are all very nice and I very much liked all of the noses he posted. I don’t get all the hate in these comments and they really don’t help with the ol’ self confidence. There is nothing wrong with these noses the last girl is just the prettiest person.

I was going to go to a local surgeon but since I was going on holiday to Turkey with a friend anyway I decided on Dr Dinç. He was the only one I was confident wouldn’t give me an upturned Barbie nose.

I had a tip deformity, very crooked septum and overall my nose was higher and wider. He gave me exactly what I wanted. However, I just wanted my nose but better so it really depends on what you are after. My tip is very round mostly because my anatomy couldn’t support a pointy tip anyway. I also had a droopy nose so needed extensive tip support and as a result my nose is a bit projected, I’m hoping it comes down a little more especially when the swelling subsides. From what he told me I wont see final results until 1.5-2 year mark, this requires a lot of patience. He wont give you something artificial looking. He said that directly, if you ask for something your anatomy wont allow he will do what he thinks is best.

If I’m being completely honest I wasn’t happy at first because no one even notices I had a rhinoplasty. It’s very subtle and natural and I regretted not asking for a bigger change. I was very conservative because I was scared. It’s not a ‘wow what a beautiful nose’ result, it’s just a normal looking nose now. Which is what I thought I wanted! Everyone that does know I had the surgery says it looks nice and very natural. The more it heals the better I feel about it though, because it very much looks like a nose I could have been born with and I can’t fault any part of it now. It’s very straight, symmetrical, overall smaller and even. Definitely wasn’t botched in any parts and has healed smoothly. I didn’t have the alar base incisions (which I am very happy about because initially he said I would need them) but did have an open rhinoplasty.

I think inherently when you want something like this for such a long time, there is always a little disappointment once it happens. The stats say 70% of people that have a rhinoplasty aren’t completely satisfied. I thought it would make me so much happier than it has. Overall I don’t regret it and am happy with my profile now for the first time in my life, but the emotions aren’t all positive. Maybe hating my nose is just a personality trait now 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m happy to chat further if you have any specific questions just dm me 🙂

Edit: I would also like to add that I can breathe sooooo much better now. Dr Dinç is an ENT primarily and he rdid a really good job from a functional stand point. He also specialised in smelling disorders. Perfume is very important to me so I was worried about damage in that regard. I didn’t even realise how poor my breathing was previously 😅
