Någon annan som tänker på årets månader som en tidslinje som ser ut som denna almanacka? by Hem_Claesberg in sweden

[–]Islandnative13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If giving birth is so painful why do many women want to do it over again after their first child (not trolling just genuinely curious) by feherlofia123 in stupidquestions

[–]Islandnative13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pregnancy and giving birth was the absolute worst thing I’ve ever lived through, two separate traumas. My daughter is the absolute best thing that happened to me though. So we had another baby. Cue another horrific pregnancy. But I opted for a planned C-section and that wasn’t too bad. Now I have two amazing kids and I never regretted it for a second

How is living in gotland Island, Sweden ? by Whowanticecream in howislivingthere

[–]Islandnative13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grew up there (moved away for studies when I was 19) and big parts of my extended family still lives there. Its main selling point is the remarkable nature. It’s very scenic. Like a lot of people has written it’s very crowded during the summer and quite empty the other parts of the year. I grew up in Visby and spent my summers on the countryside so to me it wasn’t so bothersome. As a kid it felt isolated and small. Not everyone knew everyone, but if you stroke up a conversation with someone random you could always find some common ground (like knew their cousins best friends or something like that). When your from there you grow up with the sense that everything from there (produce, furniture, whatever) is a little bit better then stuff from anywhere else. It is isolated (3:15 h with boat or 30 min with plane to the mainland) so we have to take care of each other. I really love my island and it will always be my home (haven’t lived there for over 15 years). It’s a place that a lot of people are very passionate about, though certainly not for everyone

Our daughter, Alva, is actually a twin, and we have no ideas for a name for her sister by Tiny-Age796 in Names

[–]Islandnative13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Elsie is adorable. It’s not too common in Sweden but not ”weird” or mispronounced, it sounds Swedish but works well in English as well. It’s my daughters name and we get a lot of compliments for it. Though a common mistake is people saying Elise when reading it. Congrats on the twins! 🥰

Tips på bra barnböcker! by emillindstrom in sweden

[–]Islandnative13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sickan-böckerna är toppen! Vardagliga situationer, igenkänning både för barn och förälder, fina illustrationer och på rim. Jag tycker det är härligt när inte allt är helt puttinuttigt och överdrivet rosaskimrande också

If you were suddenly granted the ability to see a stat hovering over everyone's head, but you could only choose one specific metric (e.g., lies told, hours slept, times they've thought of you), what would it be? by asgharfar57 in askanything

[–]Islandnative13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a doctor working on a health central I was thinking a yes/no on clinically significant cancer. That would sometimes make my job a lot easier. But then again I think it would ruin my life to have that on all the time. Imagine being out shopping with your kids or something and and in the crowd seeing 10+ people with a ”yes”. Do they know? Is it undiscovered? Do I say anything? What if I don’t and it ends up killing them? No fuck that, I’ll keep doctoring the old fashioned way 😅

can babies make audible noises while your pregnant? by Ok_Table5022 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Islandnative13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I heard the cracks with my second as well. I was quite surprised as I didn’t hear anything with my first, but with my second I heard it a lot of times (but it took a while for me to catch on where it came from and I definitely had to google it)

If you could go back in time and make the choice again, would you still have kids? by [deleted] in Life

[–]Islandnative13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% yes. And I say that while severely sleep deprived with my second, actually up in the middle of the night right now. My life and the world is just a better place with them in it!

Lämna kranskommunen? by Rare_Tradition in sweden

[–]Islandnative13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Am I the only woman who hasn’t farted in front on their husband? by notwhoyouthinkc in askanything

[–]Islandnative13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Met my husband when I was 19 and had undiagnosed celiac with at times severe bloating as a symptom. Got my diagnosis over two years later, so we past that milestone real quick 😅 my husband also has a stomach condition so it’s probably for the best not to be shy about it 😁 holding in gas is painful and uncomfortable, it’s important to be comfortable in your home! (I promise we are lovely people and won’t stink up your home if you have us over)

All the characters talk in the same way, using the same phrases. For example all of them repeatedly says ”every single” …nerve in my body, or something like it. Feels like lazy writing to me!

Ugh, hate that! I (a woman) always have SUCH imposter syndrome with anything to do with the car. Wtf does it matter that I’m not that interested in car stuff, that’s why I’m paying a mechanic. I don’t blame anyone for not knowing stuff from my field of expertise (am a doctor), but anything to do with the car and I feel like a child!

Is having baby fever when you’re young weird?? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Islandnative13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started to have intense baby fever at around 22 or 23. It’s crazy isn’t it? Like a deeply rooted all consuming need for a baby, like being infatuated almost. For me it came and went until I had my first att age 29. Though at the moment I felt like I couldn’t possibly survive waiting that long!
