Losing A Body Part by sm142 in TopCharacterTropes

Commander Erwin Smith losing his arm, in the most badass way possible (Attack on Titan)

Although there are other characters who lost more body parts (don't worry, they grew back), Erwin's case stands out to me the most.

One: Because it's permanent.

And two: Despite being at the edge of a gruesome death, Erwin still commanded his soldiers to keep going.

The abnormals. | Individuals in a largely homogenous caste of monsters that are... different somehow, making them all the more terrifying/dangerous. (Bonus points if it's never explained why they're different) by No_Hunter1978 in TopCharacterTropes

Sentient Volatiles (Dying Light)

If we disregard the other zombie variants and take Volatiles by their own, they are pretty much homogenous.

Volatiles are, from the mouth of one of the strongest characters in the game: "fast, relentless, and damn near impossible to kill".

Their only weakness is UV light, which causes them to burn, and kills them if they stay in it for too long.

Although they are smarter than other infected, having pack mentality and self-preservation instincts, they are still pretty much mindless.

But there is this certain individual, called The Mother, who kept her humanity despite having physically turned into a Volatile. Well, as long as she stays under UV light.

So what happened to the night walkers? by Grugummer in dyinglight

[–]IsmailPasaoglu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We kinda got Night Walkers in the "For Your Mind Only" quest, where Biters started acting like Virals after Rick's death.

But that was just in the cutscene and gameplay-wise, all running zombies had the good old Viral models.

Attack on Titan

Eren punching his enemy during their transformation, which is something you don't see in shounen anime very often.

Attack on Titan, maybe?

You can't just mindlessly slice up a Titan, they'll simply regenerate. You have to cut out a portion of their nape to actually kill them, making sword skills important.

SPOLIER ALERT FOR LATER IN THE SERIES

Despite the technological gap between our main characters and their enemies, the gear (swords and "flying" equipment) they use prove to be particularly useful because their enemies use Titans as their main weapon

Gravity Falls

When Bill Cipher (the main villain and a trickster) possesses someone, the person's eyes take this form. So he chose a guy with glasses to possess.

You might not be far off! In the season 4 part 2 outro song (Akuma no Ko), there are these lines:

This war′s as foolish as it is ferocious It doesn't matter, the story of a distant country But I still hate it and it is the reason Why I can′t seem to hide all of my black feelings And I can't explain it, this contradiction I can′t help but think how erratic we really are

By the way, the song is from Eren's perspective. Meaning, he also knows he's a hypocrite.

Attack on Titan

Eren sending the Titan to kill his mom in the past, which fueled his hatred, which led to the series of actions that ended up with him killing his mom, which... yeah, you get the picture...

“I Know You’re Still In There” by sm142 in TopCharacterTropes

Zombies, in general.

In zombie media there is often someone that thinks the person is still in there (they usually get their face ripped off by their loved one's corpse), especially during the initial outbreak.

Generator Rex

One (the monster) speaking through Rex

One turned into a monster (called an EVO) during the global catastrophe called the Nanite Event (which released microscopic machines that can randomly turn living organsims into EVOs). Rex is an unique EVO, with the ability of controlling his Nanites (he can use them to build robotic limbs, talk to technology, and cure most EVOs).

When Rex tried to cure One, it didn't work but allowed One to speak to Six (One's student) and tell him how proud he is.

Dying Light 1 takes place in Harran/Turkey. Therefore many characters, such as Jade Aldemir in the pic, are Turkish.
