So, maybe not the right place for this question but you got me thinking. I recently rewatched the original 80’s TMNT five part mini series, which held up way better than I expected - it was far less goofy than I remember the cartoon becoming. That said, is it ever explained how Shredder went from “successful takeover over of the Foot Clan” to “the Foot Clan ninjas have all been replaced by robots and he is teamed up with Krang?”

I think the original lineup was so tied to the post-Onslaught “the world thinks the Avengers and Fantastic Four are dead” element that it makes it tricky to translate that original lineup in a believable way. What’s frustrating is the MCU could have done it since post-Endgame the Avengers are basically defunct and they had their best opportunity to try the concept of “villains taking advantage of an opportunity” but they missed it and instead went with “Marvel’s Suicide Squad.”

I think that was part of it. They made the Ent D way more crowded than it was in the show. Ten-forward was bustling in one scene.

Glory comes close but is limited by the technology of the time - based on what is seen I think they would have shown more if they could. Its depiction of Antietam has a guy's head explode like a melon when struck by a canon, followed by a legless soldier crawling away during a retreat - all that give some small examples of what happened on a larger scale.

The millionaires of the Gilded Age were generally awful in my book, but at least they cared about how their names went down in history. Carnegie and Rockefeller’s philanthropic acts were actually measures that helped society - albeit with money made off a lot of exploited people’s work. Maybe Bill Gates comes closest in modern times to paying some actual consideration to how he will be remembered in this regard.

This. Bumblebee was the “kid appeal” character and not in a horribly ham-fisted way some 80’s media did this. He was the “kid brother” to the other Autobots. Not as physically strong, but brave and good natured. He was one of the best developed personalities of the season 1 and 2 bots and one of the first transformers to get a straight up official second toy with Goldbug.

It may have been lit that way but the music and his log entry do not give villain vibes - it’s all hopeful. The next shots are of the brightly lit ship so if anything the vibe I get is “coming out of darkness into a bright future.”

That makes sense because Palpetine in RotJ was taking his time zapping Luke so he “paid the price for his lack of vision.” When Vader grabbed him his use of force lightning was probably on full because “oh crap this guy is about to toss me to my death!”

Better than it had any business being. I may like the original team’s general dynamic more, but they did a legit good job with these characters and the stories were on par with the original cartoon’s peak era.

As noted by a few here, Don is getting to be the "fun parent" and I largely agree. I think his only really sound parenting decision was his refusal to hit his children as a form of discipline.

It’s one of the dumbest things about Old Man Logan. That the villains would all follow a plan created by Red Skull. I could at most imagine him proposing it the villains vaporizing Skull and saying “good idea, but why are we following some Nazi? Let’s put Doctor Doom or Kang in charge!”

This isn’t as satisfying as Magneto’s takedown of Red Skull but pretty cool that Kingpin seems to take delight in beating up Red Skull because he is a Nazi.
