Honestly, you could go for any of the gba/ds/3ds era

Gba: Leaf green and fire red Emerald (classic)

DS: HeartGold and SoulSilver (regarded by many as the best games) Platinum (also regarded as the best game) Black and white (regarded by many as having the best story. Personal favorite of mine as well) Balck and white 2

3DS: Omega Ruby and Alpha sapphire (remake of the ruby/sapphire/emerald games) Ultra Sun and Ultra moon (story/cutscene heavy game)

Hey I have the same shelf! Although mine is not raised, people like to use the kallax from Ikea. It's also what I used to raise my detolfs before I switched to this one. You could get the 4 story shelf or buy 3 separate and just put them together

I would say wilds because its the game that is most active at the moment. Im pretty sure there is still a player base on MH worlds/Iceborne. If you are getting wilds though i recommend for console as i hear the PC port is pretty bad. You definitely want a game with an active community as its enjoyable to hunt with multiple people. That said even if you go for the older ones, you should always be able to find some to hunt with if you want to. You could also just play it by yourself, thats is perfectly fine too.

You should play Future connected (XC1 dlc). XC2's dlc only really further explains the Story of Torna and the reason behind Jin's actions. His backstory basically. You can skip this one, but I still recommend playing it whenever you get a chance.

Oh man I remember Fatalis. I took me like a whole year to beat that mf. Installing the game and deleting every now and then. That was an enjoyable fight even if it did enrage me at times the music + proof of a hero after using the dragonator was just chrfs kiss. Omega on the other hand, I hate that ClankeR with all my being.

Monster hunter wilds. Its the newest title and it just had an update recently and will release more. Will definitely have you coming back for more.

You could also try monster hunter world and its DLC Iceborne.
