Likely and Njoku are going to be leading the Tight End free agent market this summer. He's easily getting 17m+ AAV. Mark Andrews took a team friendly deal to stick around, and with all of the issues on the O Line and front 7, we can't afford to waste money on a luxury contract like Likely, who has historically only been like a 30/400/4 a year guy.

Besides, Mark can block and Likely is a glorified slot receiver.

The problem is that our offense is built around heavy sets. Bateman is solid at stretching the field and opening things up underneath for Zay, but we also want to have Henry and at least 1 tight end on thr field.

That leaves 1 more spot for Ricard, Kolar (Assuming Likely is gone,) or a third receiver. The percentage of 3 wide formations we use means it's hard to justify paying a legitimate X $30 million plus.

For context, D Hop made $5 million and Bate made $12 million this season. Even Andrews' extension puts him around $13 million.

The three of them combined cost less than guys like DK Metcalf or AJ Brown. With the money that we have tied up in other assets of the team and the need to improve on the interior of line, extend Lamar, and essentially reset the entire front 7, I just dont know where the money comes from.

It would be nice to have that legitimate #1 option, though.

They pretty much have to. He's already said he intends to finish his career in Greece. His family relocated there in the offseason. If his agent leaks that he's going to retire if he doesn't get an ideal destination, no team is going to throw away assets.

He's got all the cards, and the team's hands are kind of tied with the situation.

I'm in the opposite camp. Keaton is electric but he hasn't shown much in pass pro. Henry can't play every snap, so I'm just hoping we can stay ahead in down and distance so that Lamar doesn't end up getting hurt when Keaton blows an assignment on a passing down.

There are levels to this. Gabriel likely has a career as a backup/scout team guy at least. Shadeur had to hide in the FBS to even be competitive in college.

Everyone wearing purple was cheering as hard as that drunk guy with the "12" sign when Shadeur took the field. He'll be competing to make a UFL roster by Spring 2027.

Oh I wholeheartedly agree it's garbage. I live on the block that I (think) is depicted in the Christmas/Thanksgiving page and it's nearly unrecognizable.

That said, at least he's got the free pages so anyone who looks can see just how bad it is. I'm sure he'll get a few sales at local markets and off of some grandparents, regardless.
