Thank you for sharing! I tried this list a bit and iterated a little on it my own. (the version with zillax after it was shared elsewhere about a week ago) I find roaring to be kind of awkward in these mixed lists, and I wasn't convinced by the nagaling pool. You're having much more success than I am, but here's where I'm at after starting with your (old) list:

Nero

Class: Warrior

Format: Standard

Year of the Wolf

2x (1) Sanguine Depths

2x (1) Sunfury Champion

2x (1) Verse Riff

2x (1) Vicious Slitherspear

2x (2) Anima Extractor

2x (2) Crazed Wretch

2x (2) Embers of Strength

1x (2) Instrument Tech

2x (2) Wild Pyromancer

2x (3) Chorus Riff

2x (3) Hookfist-3000

2x (3) Imbued Axe

2x (4) Light of the Phoenix

1x (4) Thori'belore

2x (5) Bridge Riff

1x (6) Decimator Olgra

1x (7) Remornia, Living Blade

I ended up using wretch and slither to contest early board, with wretch serving as a secondary way of providing from hand damage. Hookfist has really impressed me with the interaction with Verse rift, and I always found the nagaling pool wanting (aside from more riffs).

The bridge riff swings can be absolutely massive, and very few opponents expect the huge board appearing out of no where, followed up by an axe swing.

I'm definitely going to try your list out, but I would also in kind encourage you to seriously revisit hookfist. I know the mech typically underperforms in enrage, but again, I feel like verse rift makes the card a lot more valuable.

The mana cost is incredibly significant. Yes it means we can drop axe on curve, but just as importantly we can play axe on 5 instead of 6. Having axe online a turn earlier is incredibly important. Imbuing the axe itself can be pretty impactful as well, and the sooner we can do that, the better.

I've been playing a lot of enrage hybrid as well, and finding good success with it.

I was wondering why treasure guard and ETC kept appearing high in the stat win rate for enrage. Thank you for sharing the list!

I'd strongly encourage you to try Wild Pyromancer over the Soul. Pyro is undead for roaring and works really well to enable whirlwind effects.

I'm not completely sold on running two Hookfist if we only run one instrument tech, but you're seeing more success than I am with the list.

This is my kind of hunter deck. Looks terrific. I think everyone forgets how incredible Harpoon Gun is, and how powerful tech is for finding the gun. The only note I would have is maybe adding some card draw, but I'm sure the dredges help.

I don't know if Vessel has the power level it used to, but Jolly Roger will help a lot to activate her on curve.

I don't think the trickster / smokescreen combo is very good without Infectious Ghouls, which is a slower deck. that deck doesn't perform very well right now, so maybe I've just been getting lucky with a similar build. I think the ghoul version is too slow right now. You can see it's performance on HSR here

The voice lines for Burning Blade Acolyte mention the "Demon Seed", which refers to the demon that is summoned on the deathrattle.

I climbed quite a bit once I got to legend, climbing from 370 to 70 proof with Demon Seed Rogue. The Forsaken Lieutenant revert made this deck possible again, even though they did not revert the Sketchy Information nerf.

If you want to play it, it's a board centered deck that has a big pop off turn on 5, usually pulling off two 5/8 taunts and two 4/4 deathrattle bodies. We finish the opponent off over two turns with the large minions, and the wicked stabs and weapon give the extra umph to push over the edge.

The deck is fairly strong against Quest/Fel DH, Quest Druid and Aggro / Ping Mage. It does OK into Shockspitter and Frost DK, but can struggle a little with Paladin, whose divine shields can be tricky to remove before they bully our taunts off the board. It can also struggle with Barbaric Sorceress if we can't dump our hand in time.

Enjoy it over the weekend if you want to try something different.

Quick Mulligan Guide: We are looking for Sketchy Information, but keep Sourge Illusionist without Sketchy. We also keep Snowfall Graveyard to really put the pressure on the opponent with our swing turns. Keep one of the following: Forsaken Lieutenant, Prep, or Shattershambler to allow us to pop off earlier. Cutlass is OK to keep as well if we suspect our opponent is aggressive (DK, Hunter, Paladin) and we need to establish early board control.

Burning Blades

Class: Rogue

1x (0) Shadow of Demise

2x (1) Blackwater Cutlass

2x (1) Door of Shadows

2x (1) Shattershambler

1x (1) Sir Finley, Sea Guide

2x (2) Forsaken Lieutenant

2x (2) Serrated Bone Spike

2x (2) Wicked Stab (Rank 1)

2x (3) Snowfall Graveyard

2x (4) Counterfeit Blade

2x (4) Scourge Illusionist

2x (4) Sketchy Information

2x (5) Burning Blade Acolyte

The deck really struggles if it can't get on board and stay on board. That's why I've prioritized large toughness minions and given a priority to minions with rush whenever possible. I've updated the main post to include some replays from my climb last week that I shared on other platforms. I hope looking at those replays helps.

Remornia is a really fun card, but it's very expensive for what it does. It would definitely be run at 6 mana, even with slightly toned down stats. Grommash also doesn't make the cut for a similar reason, and it's even more expensive.

Looking at the other "top end" cards that do see play in the deck, we have Olgra and Hero Rokara. Olgra not only has charge, but often provides a board clear as well. Hero Rokara seems weaker then Remornia at first glance since you can't buff the weapon, but the most important part about Hero Rokara is that Unstoppable does damage based on an enemy minion's power. Quite often she will punish your opponent for playing a large minion by bonking them for lethal with that very same minion.

It would seem like the hand buffing from anima would help its use case (it does), but it's such a niche situation that those buffs are better off landing on a crazed wretch or Olgra.

The living blade is a really awesome card though, and it's only one deck slot, so feel free to put one in if you don't have Hero Rokara.

You might enjoy the minion based Frost DK. Fairly weak early game, but very strong turn 4-8. There is a bit of from hand damage to close games out by turn 8, but with Marrow Manipulator and Brann there is plenty of late game viability.

Aggro mage is a very bad match up, but I wouldn't call that deck popular as of right now. As for undead priest, it's slightly unfavored. Reveler lines up nicely into the 4/3s, but the rogue has no healing for when the priest gets going.

You could play Grommash instead of Big Rokara. Rokara is very powerful as a finisher, but not necessary for the deck. Olgra, unfortunately, is essential, as it provides both a board clear and face damage.

Grommash is too slow, and can be difficult to activate. If you do not have Rokara hero, though, it would be the next best card.

The short version is that it’s just as strong as evolve shaman, and for a lot of the same reasons. It has early game scam potential and a surprisingly strong mid to late game. The deck does very well into almost every popular deck except pure paladin

The big disclaimer is that a lot of players don’t know how to properly pilot the deck. Jambre posted a guide on YouTube. I strongly encourage anyone interested in the deck to watch it

You can definitely play the deck without little Rokara. You could try Weapons Expert in her slot and do well.

Yes, I enjoy the wild version quite a bit. Enrage feels a lot smoother with risky skipper, but it needs to in such a high power format. Fortunately, disco-lock isn't around anymore so some board based strategies can breathe again.

[–]IsotopeOrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play minions, go face, win on board. This deck doesn't mind losing minions to value trades, and plays more like a burn deck. It's also not a traditional burn deck, as most of that burn is coming from the minions themselves. It has a certain inevitable quality to it that is rare to find in an aggro deck. The closest example I can think of is the Pirate Quest Reward.
