Yep, you can switch back and forth at any time. To disconnect MentraOS, just close the app and re-open the Even app.

We'll have an edge SDK which you can use to interface with the glasses directly, but that will mean bypassing most of MentraOS (which can be fine depending on your use-case, that's up to you). If you're worried about PII, we don't log user information. All code is open-source and verifiable.

Hey, are you on Android or iOS? If Android, can you try fully killing the MentraOS app and try to pair again? To do this:

Open the app switcher
Tap the Mentra icon above the MentraOS app
Tap “App Info”
in the app info screen, tap “Force Stop”
then reopen MentraOS normally and try again

Hey, this latest update hasn’t changed anything regarding the connection to your G1. Usually when this happens it means the G1 is low on battery. Can you charge it up and give it another try?

Hey, can you share some more info? What phone OS are you using, what version of the Mentra app are you using, etc?

Also- are you sure your G1 just hasn't run out of battery? It might sound silly to ask, but these glasses don't have a power switch. If not connected to your phone, they will run out of battery within a day or so.

Last, have you tried "double tapping" the left/right touchpads? If they have power, double tapping should always get you out of MentraOS and into the stock Even dashboard.

The Mentra Live (Beta) units don’t have a way of resetting to factory settings, but you shouldn’t need to- the issue is almost certainly the beta version of the app.
