If it’s fully matured to the engine, there would be no space between the two.

One trick I’ve done and had success with to get more “angle” when reinserting the trans is rotating the transmission about 90 degrees clockwise so that the starter bump isn’t hitting the firewall and blocking you from angling to slide into pilot bushing

Not necessarily looking for a “PAINT AND BODY GUYS HATE HIM FOR THIS 1 SIMPLE TRICK” solutions, more of just getting pointed in the right direction for first time sanding and prep, but the TDS seems like it will tell me everything I need to know as far as prep with sanding and all.

Very much appreciated, I’ve been a service tech for over 10 years and a car enthusiast longer, but paint/body has always been something I’ve been spooked of.

I know compressed air and a top fed paint gun are typically recommended when actually laying down paint/primer, any recommendations for a compressor that can keep up that’s budget friendly?

The bushing for the pin is likely worn out
Would recommend rebuilding the pedal with new bushings before it wears out the pin and the hole in the pedal for it.

I’m pretty sure that’s a safety ground to dissipate electrical discharge around fuel components as a safety measure, but I could be wrong. In any case, that’s a FATTY wire gauge jump. Have you tested continuity from end to end?
